It's pretty bad. So far this series is averaging slightly worse than Gundam Age. Though its part of the trend of decline in anime TV ratings in general.

I'm personally not surprised about the rating numbers even if I think it's a decent show (it certainly started with one of the best potential I've seen in a long time). It didn't seem to me like some of the recent arcs would help that not to mention the slow pacing of the main plot and the lower number of battles can turn some viewers off I guess.

I think 2.0% is lower than the debut episode if I'm not mistaken (which I think we discussed wasn't particular a good number either - and that episode was generally very well received by us on the English speaking side), though it increased quite a bit by Episode 3 I recall. Have not seen any other rating numbers posted until this episode 10 one.

Also, thanks AHT for posting the recent ratings numbers.

That's not too surprising, I suppose.

I'm curious as to how this show in particular (and the franchise in general) is faring ratings-wise more specifically against other contemporaneous mecha series/franchise.

I am so happy happy that the dedicated team of Okada's bashers who lurk in animesuki are staying clear of this thread. One of them just reared their ugly head in the Macross thread when people started talking about a show she wrote with Kawamori.

It's interesting the amount of annoyance I hear about her on other sites for this series, when in actuality, while she is doing series composition, she's really only has done the actual screenplay for only 5 of the episodes so far.

Do you know the exact episode where Okada do the screenplay of the episode herself? It will be interesting tidbit info to keep in mind when rewatching the series.

She did the screenplay for episode 1-3, 9 and 13.

All the other episodes were separated between two other writers.

Not quite the case as she wasn't in charge of 5 (battle leaving Mars), 7 (first meeting/battle with Teiwaz), and the fight taking place 12 against Brewers

So I would say she's got roughly half of the overall action episodes

I will say this though, on the top of my head, those are like really great episodes.

Although I can't for the life of me remember what happened specifically in 9.

That was the blood pact episode where Orga took all the kids out on the town before the ceremony at the end.

and promptly got wasted. Orga getting drunk was funny. Also, some of the guys discovered "the oldest profession" and were noticeably very happy the next day.

All that anger seeing the worst girl got a kiss from Mika disappeared this week after watching Atra helping Biscuit and asking if she was over the line.

I hope Atra will be happy with someone at the end of this series. ٩( ᐛ )و

seriously, McGillis's Char mask comes with a wig, at least its a believable disguise.

They've given a name for our masked man, though I'm not sure if it's going to be revised at any point.

Yes, just like the Alexandre Dumas novel. They are continuing with the iron theme, though his mask looks more golden than iron to me...
