Does he ever get the ability to actually recite spells?
That seriously nerfed him in the anime and early parts of the novel. What could is getting the ability to use any magic if he cant actually use it unless he gets a scroll to use a spell. Im also curious how do skills work for language etc? I get you can add 1-10 points, and a skill gets stronger with more points, but like how does that work with a language? I would just put one point into that skill and move on. Has the light novel diverged at all from the web novel? |

It takes him awhile, but he's finally able to get a hold of a chant skill orb. With that he learns chant as he's utterly hopeless at chanting without it.
Higher ranks in the language skill gives better understanding/grammar/pronunciation. Just having a 1 in it probably makes you sound like an idiot foreigner trying to speak the language and utterly butchering it. Has the Light Novel diverged? Yes and No. Some events play out differently, and there are some events that don't happen at all in the WN. The overall major plot events are still there and mostly the same. Basically point A and point B are the same but the journey to get there can vary to varying degrees.

I don't think Satou has realized that now that the Gods have been wiped out, SOMEBODY has to fill in........
Or he has to figure out how to revive them. Edit: Hmmm Unit Creation DID just unlock, perhaps that'll be the answer.

Not to mention it makes the whole story with the dragon goddess make zero sense. I thought he was her lover throughout all time, constantly reincarnating and she set everything up to make him immortal, only for him to end up with Aiz. That makes like zero sense. Also from my perspective, prior to Aiz introduction, I think the way he is portrayed, given the right circumstances, he would have given at least nana and lulu a chance. |

Actually the Dragon God is easy enough to understand. She's very attached to Satou and having to see him die over and over again as his various lives come to an end is upsetting to her. So she decided to make a plan to give a Satou Godhood. She even tells him at one point in the story that she has no expectations of him and he's free to do whatever he wishes. She just wants him to live and be happy.
