Anyone here pick up this new RPG yet? I own the first Shadow hearts and it was very very nice. Now with the new sequel to it, they have really improved on the way you commence battle, the story is just as good as the first, and Yuri is still as good as ever.

Never played the first but this game has been getting great reviews so I might have to pick it up.

I heard about it about a week ago and I decided that I should buy it,but than again I have a lot of games to buy for the fall rush,so it might be a long while before I get it,if at all.

Well I didnt play the first one.....so......I decided to search and read out the whole story of it in some site.

Yea I suck.
Mainly Gamefaqs, home of gamer gods. Do I still will understand the storyline then without even playing the first?

btw, this game's gonna rock. It has been getting fantastic reviews. Can't wait to have it. Too bad it wont be until Thursday when I get the game.

This game isn't getting as much attention as it deserves, so I'm spreading the words!!

It's really a great game, plenty of sidequest like SO 3. Unpredictable and fantastic.

However if we talking about the gameplay then imo SO 3 is superior. Not saying that the battle is bad but turn based system and the judgement ring just isnt my stuff.

Now about the story and sound.....

The English voice actings are good. Not awesome, but DEFINITELY GOOD. In fact Yuri's (the main hero) voice acting's is one of the best I've ever seen. Even better than other English VA's. Although I have to admit the one thing lacking about the VA's is that the put the same voice for diffirent people over and over. But it's still good.

Story....now this is the main reason for the show. Unpredictable and fantastic.....but also THE FUNNIEST STORY in rpg history imo. I found my self laughing all the time in disc 1 and 2 for the jokes they've made. Especially the Wolverine and Superman comparison LMAO. Other than that the story is sad, happy, lovey dovy romance, and so on so on. The villains are fantastic as well.

so.......you can simply rent it first.....play it for a couple of hours....and then decide. Wether you trashed it or....buy it.....uhhh

Anyway....happy gaming.

Everything about this game is great. Yuri is a badass male protaganist character. I liked everything about this game until the ending that left me saying WTF!!!! Those that have finished the game know what i mean

I adored the game. It is a great game. I haven't played the first one yet. The ending was so sad . . . I cried. But! Atleast Karin and Yuri both ended up happy. I admit that I wanted them together, but . . . Karin and Yuri's father isn't so bad! : )

I finished Shadow Hearts: Covenant many months ago and it's very good! So yeah, I wanted them togther as well. Both good and bad ending are very sad.
I will playing Shadow Hearts: From The New World later.

Maybe because it is a much better game than Star Ocean 3? I tried to play that, thought I was playing a space opera game, and spent all my time in some weird medieval place. I also hated the battle system. Often I'd end up controlling the healing character and letting the other characters run off AI. Finally I just gave up.

Not to mention that the story line in SH:Covenant is light-years ahead of SO3. In fact there are only a few other RPGs that I think even come close in terms of story.

I love the monster designs for the game, so disturbing (especially if you read their info) and UNIQUE. I must say the creatures in this game are possibly the best I've seen for any RPG.

So, Karin's ending means that she is Yuri's mother??
