TBT north korea is a nation about to die of starvation, that is why they attempt to intimidate their neighbors, the moment they stopped receiving foreign help the population would starve to death and the goverment would crumble.

Just two news stories I read today...
1.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-0...en-surges.html
Sony shares drop below 4 digits

2.
2ch --> precautions --> to the company that would not like this news
Sony stealth marketing blogs get called out by 2ch's administrator, basically saying:
"Stop spreading fake news and all of that crap, or I'll sue you"

DPRK tries to get foreign aid to continuously fuel their military. Given that it's the semi-wartime siege mentality that is keeping the government in power, diverting funds from the military to feed the civilians might save the people but will help make the government fall. Basically, foreign aid is for keeping the status quo, not because DPRK cannot feed itself.

That's why I doubt N. Korea will start a war in a empty stomach.

The DPRK military already has enough stockpiles for a major war.

The north has supplies for a war they can't win, so they will NOT start it.. The scenarios available to north korea are:

1. invade china. They would be squashed whithin the month.
2. invade south korea. Goody, just what the doctor ordered™ another war for the USA to waste billions of dollars. No matter how much food, fuel and ammunition the north has stockpilled, South Korea (with the help of the USA) can outlast them. They have been preparing half a century for this war, it would be a reenactment of trench wars of WWI.
3. Invade japan. The north korean army lacks the naval firepower to invade japan, remember the north would have to carry ground forces into japanese soil by boat.
4. Nuke any neighboring country. That is plain terrorism (remember 9/11) and would be the perfect excuse to obliterate north koreas goverment (remember afanistan post 9/11), not even china would oppose a UN mandate after such a negligent act.

I saw an interview with him in his latter days... the "trololo" song was his way of fighting the Soviet suppression of his time (when at the last minute they wouldn't let him sing the lyrics to the song).

Note that he died on the same day where Russia launched the Brusilov Offensive against Austria-Hungary in WWI.

RIP old man.

There's just something seriously unhinged about people who will kill you for depicting a historical figure on ink and paper (no matter what the intent). And there's something about wanting me to respect someone else's interpretation of invisible unicorns in the sky when clearly pixies and faeries are behind the whole thing .... pass the irony

Interesting. I wonder if they will also have MPs from other countries as well?
Yes, there are 11 for the whole world.

1. USA / Canada
2. South and Central America
3. Northern Europa (including "London")
4. Benelux
5. Spain, Portugal, Monaco and Andorra
6. Switerland / Germany
7. Eastern Europa (from Germany to the Black Sea)
8. Southern Europa (Italy and northern shore of the Mediterranean Sea)
9. Northwest Africa
10. Rest of Africa and Middle East
11. Rest of the World (that thing between Ukraine and Australia I guess it shows how France doesn't exist in Asia ? Or maybe the french there are all commie and Sarkozy didn't want to give too many MP ?)

I didn't read the whole article, but those new MP are basically ghosts created by the old majority (Sarkozy's) for two purposes :
increase the number of seats likely to be gained by them. (frenchmen living abroad are NOT likely to be socialists) Although it's not working as expected since the left topped 7 of the 11 districts. (but it's still the first round)
Recreate a link between people living in their own country and the emigrated ones. It has never been said loudly, but since one of the hot debates going on in the country is whether the non-french should be allowed to take part to local elections in France, the old majority (whose answer is a non-negotiable "FUCK NO") is saying that if those people want to vote, they can ask to vote in their home country like the emigrated french can do and let the french affairs to the french.

No one gives a shit about those elections. I don't remember hearing the expatried french asking for those MP and the news of the creation of those MP didn't seem that well received.
The participation was not 20% in the first round which is extremely low for french standards. (Although it may due to a glitch, I hear there was a Java Update this week that completely messed the internet vote and since there weren't many offices, it was hard for them to go vote in person)

Mystery Iranian deaths amid shadow war

"At least 10 high-ranking officers in Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps are
reported to have died recently, apparently in violent circumstances.

But only two of the deaths have been made public, raising suspicions the officers
may have been assassinated by Iran's enemies."

And what's the odd than they are MIA in Syria while giving some '' support'' to Damas ? Teheran is know to been shipping them weapons, to send ''trainers'' would be logical.

There's also speculation there that it's an internal IRCG purging. The leader of a commando unit in a key oil center doesn't seem like a target Mossad or the CIA would particularly care about. Israel is busy killing Iranian nuclear scientists after all. It does seem like a target a faction within the organization that wants to make sure its people have strategic posts would be interested in though.
