Now I'm just trying to remember at which point the franchise went from "killing moves in order to FINISH THEM" to dealing impossible wounds that the fighters don't even register. I know that it's a conscious choice that cranks ridiculousness up to 11, but it would be nice to actually have injuries as a game mechanic - it would give the game a more realistic touch (not that they're going for it, but whatever).

'I'd Have These Extremely Graphic Dreams': What It's Like To
Work On Ultra-Violent Games Like Mortal Kombat 11: "The people who make Mortal Kombat live with the series’ over-the-top violence for much longer than players do. Game development is slow and tedious, and a few frames depicting a man’s face being removed in photorealistic detail can be the result of days and weeks of careful work and research. That work might take a toll, one that’s worth examining as the stories of what it’s like to make the biggest, most popular games continue to come to light. Here’s one such story, about a developer who worked with the cinematics team for Mortal Kombat 11 and requested anonymity in order to protect their employment prospects. They told Kotaku that they had worked on the game throughout 2018, and spent their days reviewing violent animation work, discussing it with leads, sharing feedback with animators, and generally being surrounded by the kind of bloody real-life research material that creators reference in order to animate video game gore. Within a month, they started feeling the effects." See: https://kotaku.com/id-have-these-ext...e-t-1834611691 |

I love how they got the actor who played Shang Tsung in the MK movie to motion capped and voice the character for the game as well. Also, they confirmed, Nightwolf, Sindel and Spawn will be coming as well. And judging by the soundtrack for the next two secret characters, Ash from Evil Dead and the Terminator are also coming.
