Something freaky just happened when I posted...

From this thread: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=16574

I created the thread, then I went to sleep and when I woke up I saw two people post. I wrote a reply to them and when I did my reply was placed BEFORE the other two guys, so now the posts are in the order of: my original post, my reply post, guy #1 post, guy #2 post. Was the forum time reset or something, because the timestamp on my post is earlier than the other two guys posts, yet it is impossible for me to make a post to a reply that has not yet occured.

OMG? Did I just experience time travel? That must be it, I'm from the future! Err, well please be ready for the day when machines start to kill humans in a post-apocolyptic war because its just around the corner.

Gimme a break, I went to bed at 3AM after reading and writing code for 4 hours and so I got up at 11AM. I don't think it's that bad to sleep 8 hours a day, I mean it's summer!

Damn, I was hoping that I was the only one from the future.

EDIT: HAHA OMG it happened again! I impress even myself with my l33t t1m3 traveling skillz

Imagine the following scenario:

Two servers. One database. Different time on both server.
One person posts on one server, another on another server.

Update:
If you try to access the forum homepage (index.php) from the old server
(ie: DNS hasn't updated) you now get a "Sorry" (Access Denied) message.
I hope this will prevent futher "issues".

Note: other scripts aren't blocked. DNS hasn't updated for me for example,
and I also see the message when I try to access the forum, but could still
post here.

That scenario just isn't as fun as the time travelling one. ^^;

You can "enforce" the new IP if you still haven't updated.

After a short google search I found a nice guide to do this on a variety of OS, of course you need to use the IP 194.97.4.58 and the address forums.animesuki.com instead of the ones in the example.

Note: as Biohazard is posting using the old server his posts are about 2 hours in the future (relative to the new server), so this is the answer to a post you will see later in this thread

If you use the method described at the link I provided and then use forums.animesuki.com as url as usual, it should work without problems. What you probably try, which won't work, is just to enter the IP into your browser. This will lead to another forum indeed.

BTW: Remove that hosts entry again once the DNS has properly updated, or you might miss future DNS changes.

I still cant access the main page of the forums, but i can access the subforums no problem
As mentioned by GHDpro in this post, it's to show you that you are on the old server without actually "denying" full access to the forum.
