Heh, weird twist in the latest episode...not sure how I feel about this yet. I wish they did continue with the present story timeline. It looks like Shione also remembers Noel besides just Nonoka...

Ep.12

Wait....I thought this is the final ep...

Wait....this show just pulled off the alternative universe / different world line / time loop /plot?

It is, in fact, really the old "are we forgetting someone?" plot but they added in [time travel] or [alternative universe] element to make it more interesting. I kind of like it, I think.

WOW!....the animation, music and background artwork are really beautiful in this ep.

AND!...That Nonoka x Shione moment at the end XD

Good ep. Can't wait to see how it will end in the next ep.

So this wasn't the last episode? I hope Noel will come back in the last episode then.

Ep 12

I must admit that I was rather impressed by this episode. I was not expecting an alternate timeline activation like that...but what was especially interesting was the unshakeable feeling that everyone's wish had not been granted.

As if the wish itself became "updated" to include Noel among the group of friends included in their wishes of "being happy together" and so the ground work needed to be laid for the wish to truly come true, which would (possibly) occur with the gang gathering in the observatory again and wishing again or something, but that it would be inclusive of Noel now?

Anyway the mysteriousness and surrealness and even eerieness of being in this new alternate timeline was exceedingly well conveyed, I thought. I generally dislike these sorts of plot twists, but it took me by surprise and worked really well for me here. Yes indeed, quite well done.

Hopefully the last ep will be as strong as this one. Looking forward to next week!

The observatory buiding in ep.12 seems to be abandoned years longer than in the first timeline. Did Noel freeze the time around here in the first world line???

Ep 13 Finale

Well, this ep ended as expected, and was pretty well done. A rather satisfying end. The scene where they came out of the observatory and saw the sunflower field that had not been there before was probably the highlight of the ep...totally was not expecting that.

The series overall was not as great as I hoped it woukd be, but it was definitely a good one. I would give it somewhere between a B and a B+ and would also recommend it to others.

Ep.13

Well, they tried to call the saucer as expected but the show added a little twist....the saucer didn't come but they got beautiful sunflower field insted. I have to say this ep. and ep.12 have so many beautiful sceneries.

They really ships Nonoka x Shione here. Shione looks really in her white summer dress. Also, the atmosphere around her is so different when she always wear a smile on her face.

The painting artstyle animation at the end is real nice and well-done.

Noel comes back is predictable, yes. but that's not the point of this ep. IMO, the purpose of last two eps is to show the freindship between main characters and they did it really well. (I like the moment when Nonoka and friends meets in the sunflower field.) I think we can call the last two eps. as "After story"

Overall, a good show to watch. The drama in the first half is a bit too strong for me but after the show got past that, it is pleasant to watch until the end. OST is really beautiful can't wait untill they release the OST CD.

Watching this show expended a lot of my patience. There's nothing wrong with a story about Nonoka trying to recapture the past, but then she ended up having to spend the majority of the story trying and failing to reassemble her circle. The drama with Yuzuki in the first half, then with Shione in the second, got really tiring, to the point where I actually began hoping for generic happy slice of life. Yuzuki in particular was exceptionally annoying in her No Saucer Bitch phase (easily as obnoxious as Mika from Psycho-Pass 2!), since the situation with Souta really was her own damn fault. Shione at least had a good reason for staying away, since she didn't want Noel to leave. Koharu and Souta were the mature ones, but they got completely overshadowed by the other characters. And when history got reset, that only served to highlight that the annoyances didn't have to happen at all, and felt like all the character growth in the original timeline went to waste. And the finale with Noel's return ended up being predictable, since that was the only way to have a happy ending.

7.5/10 overall. Fantastic OP and ED, high quality production, Noel was adorable, but the drama was almost intolerable.

I really liked Sora no Method's final episode. A very strong finale that stayed very true to the identity that the series had built up for itself. I also felt its overall handling of Noel was well done.

Sora no Method was a show that I found hard to get at times during the middle portions, but by the end of the show, it truly resonated with me. Combined with beautiful visuals and engrossing audio, this is likely one of my Top 10 shows of 2014.

Celestial Method is a fine example of a show that can be great when it wants to be, but sadly doesn't elevate itself to that level very often. It can't decide whether it wants to put on an emotional display of fireworks or whether its content to let feelings subtly line the docks on a lake of drama. Emotional bombast is either the most well prepared rice omelet or burned curry, while sentimental underplay often highlights the strength of a visual medium with no rocket-sized baggage necessary; a brief change in a character's appearance to match her mom, the flashback reflecting where someone's guilt lies, or the gradual baring of another's head as she opens up.

The skies clear at the midway point as the show thankfully settles for sentiments of subtle shooting stars, reflected admirably (but not always) in the constellations between Noel, Nonoka, and Shione. It's their odyssey that can launch this tale to the stratosphere, as the drama surrounding the spunky Yuzuki, the motherly Koharu, and the listless Souta can't go beyond a lake and a town when the stars are often not at their backs.

Somewhere in this show is a great story waiting to be summoned. It's a shame they didn't use the best Method.

OVA is out now btw.

Lol, it's okay Shione. I like sweets and chocolates too; just the right amount of course.

All in all, a pleasant OVA. I didn't even know there was going to be an OVA, though
