Ok, don't panic. I can't prove it's existance yet, but I have seen at least 2 websites (wish I would have bookmarked them now.

) and heard in public chat on several different game servers (COD, MOH, etc) that there is a game coming out based on Appleseed, the Movie. Not the manga, the movie. That's what I'm hearing anyways. I just wanted to see if anyone else had heard these rumors and if they could substantiate them or flat crush them. Honestly, I'd stand in line for an Appleseed game if it existed, or will exist. I'm more interested in seeing if these are just people blowing smoke or if this is the first hintings to something great.

Can you guys either verify or deny that an Appleseed game is either in the works, in existance, or in the planning? Thanks in advance for any info.

I heared there is an Appleseed movie coming. They will go with real actors, motion capturing and use some cellshading effect on them (? similiar to that effect in the GC Zelda game). The rumors say they are planning a tv series as well.
The ones doing this are some guys named "Micott & Bazara", axis entertainment and Geneon Entertainment (no idea who does what part of the work here).

I dont have an english link right now.

Maybe this game is part of cinema merchandising then?

hehe. Hate to say it, but Appleseed the Movie is out already. The TV series though I haven't heard anything on yet, or if I had I forgot already.

That's kinda what I'm trying to figure out. Is it real or is it the fantasy of some game zealots out there.

I'd hope it was real. That's kinda the purpose of this thread to get more eyes and ears out looking to try and find out more about this.

uhm.. this was hard to translate so maybe you misunderstood me.
There are actualy 2 movies (+ a tv series maybe).
One of them is already out, the other one is coming january, which seems to be a normal anime movie: http://www.appleseedthemovie.com/

its coming west?!

btw, this is that movie most people were referring to
the new appleseed CG
there is only one other appleseed movie, made before the 90's
and it sucks

hopefully the dubbing wont detract from it

Japanese version of the new Appleseed has been available for a while now
(with fansubs). I even have the DVD version of it with fansubs...since november(superb quality).

The Appleseed project is planned to span 3 CG animated movies. Recently an american studio signed on to the project and there are talks about using the CG engine to make a TV series. A Live movie has also be mentioned, but that is not official and at best, wont be initiated before the last of the CG movies are done.

There are 2-3 appleseed computer games, but i think the latest one is from 1994. But it was announced that each of the new movies would have a game made for it, but so far i have not been able to find any such.
