It's fanart I do think, though I might be wrong. It could be from one of the DS games, we can't be entirely sure.

Regarding to the Red Lancelot image, I believe it was from Newtype before the series aired, I think it was a prototype image for what the Lancelot could have been, because if you look at the shoulder armor of the Red Lancelot, and compared it to the White Lancelot that we know, you will see that there is a slight difference in design.

i wish they stuck with the colour scheme but i guess u can't go wrong with white. Also i think kallen holds the rights to having a red knightmare in CG.

Yes, back before Geass aired this promo material was used in Newtype, they also had images of Lelouch, Kallen and Shirley. The uniform of Ashford back then was also dark blood red and Shirley's hair had a different colour also if I remember, it used to be yellow eyed with dark blue hair

I think I would have prefer Red uniforms to gold/yellow ones and I think Shirley looked better in the prototype picture she didn't really give off that much of a generic vibe like her extremely generic Orange hair/green eyes.

The gold/red ones in the image looked awesome, agreed. But I think that Shirley looks better with green eyes and orange hair than with black hair and gold eyes. They wanted her to look like a more unorthodox Susie Homemaker, in my opinion. It made her approachable as the go-lucky, down-to-earth girl she was.

Also, once I get back from vacation, would it be alright if I posted that image up, along with something else I was reminded of not too long ago?

BLACK HAIR WHAT KIND OF BLASPHEMY IS THIS?!?! It wouldn't be Kallen without her trademark red/crimson hair this is why I wish they would have kept the red uniforms it would have suited Kallen much better

Hmm, gotta say I like her original orange hair better. Also, it's kinda interesting to see people's speculations before the series even started. One person thought that Shirley would be a childhood friend of Lelouch's.

Notice the 'Lelouch of the Rebellion' in the left hand top corner.

The school uniforms were indeed blooe red. Splendid, as I can imagine red looking good on any of the girls -- Shirley and Karen included.

LOL the pic with Kallen with a tanned skin and black hair IS toshop'd.

Kallen's original design wasn't far from her actual design, her hair were a bit more pinkish, and her uniform's color were different. It's the very same pic which has Shirley with blue hair. And a few others, like the one with Nunally.

Black Kallen doesn't have anything to do with the prototype.
