I'm probably not the only one who feels this way, but this anime really is getting much better the further it goes. I'm really happy Trigger picked something like this to adapt. It looks generic, but it's actually quite a bit different from "the generic" style that generic titles usually seem to follow. This actually has a fair amount of depth, and very good production values.

This has thoroughly impressed me, and I enjoy that it doesn't resort to cheap gimmicks in order to sell itself. This is what I like to see from new studios... not pandering, but rather just high quality production.

lol... so Tomoyo's identity as secret Chuuni finally got revealed...
the episode starts off with a very good jokes about Maria
and then Tomoyo took the whole episode with her cuteness...
Respect to Ando.. one of the best Chuuni around.. I like how he balanced his Chuuni and manliness

Poor Hatoko... so basically Hatoko is the one who usually spent much time together with Ando like going to date together or going home together... now her place is in danger

I don't think it's fair to call Trigger a new studio. They're Gainax. The true Gainax.

ando too for able to break all tomoyo's defense naturally now all her past, dream is already laid bare to him, all left is her feeling toward him.
even this series is generic character wise, but suprisingly i really like this show, hope they can keep it out till very end

I felt like that was just for comedy value, but it would be interesting if that were true. It would also explain how he could deal with all of those difficult kanji related to chuuni terminology...

I especially liked the line in this episode thought that said that anyone can cheer you on, but it takes someone especially close to you to worry about you. That definitely wasn't generic, and it was a pretty interesting/emotional line.

The further this goes on, the more I realize that we need more series like this that have superpowers and that don't really use them... I mean... it isn't like everyone ever would use superpowers to do amazing things just because they got them.

This love triangle would be a bit more interesting if Hatoko actually had a chance to win. She's already been friend zoned, she doesn't seem to share Andou's hobbies, and she is childhood friend. We all know they never or at least, very rarely win.

It would be nice if she turned into an adorable yandere, but even then, I don't think she could defeat Tomoyo and za waruldo.

Speaking of yandere development, based on what I read on 2ch, the last part with Hatoko wasn't in the LN and it seems she'll get the tenth episode. How the Japanese know when she’ll get her turn is beyond me though.

I'd agree that Hatoko seems to have some disadvantages, but maybe might still have some hope. At the very least she isn't a tsundere so while Tomoyo may slow down her own progress Hatoko could at least make a move.

I think both girls have their positive qualities so certainly not rooting for one side over the other. Definitely agree that as things stand Tomoyo has a serious edge there in terms of interests. Though at least it's not like Hatoko dislikes the things Andou is interested in, I just don't think she gets it .

someone else, but we're moving into sayumi's arc already weirddd.

Hatoko has a better bond w/Andou though, (childhood friend) on a personal/emotional level rather than just having similar interests.

Ill keep this in spoilers, and no there isn't a light novel thread yet sadly, there aren't as many readers for this one, it's a gag novel more than it is romance so...

Honestly hoping for something to develop between Hatoko and Andou, especially after that foreshadow and the implication that she's a childhood friend. Or at least something even better with the girl in the spoiler Dx the illustrator of hataraku is godlike with illustrations rn
Even though it was adapted by trigger and people label it as generic, you can really see trigger is really trying it's best to succeed in making it stand out. If anything it might be the best comedy anime this season.
Btw did they just suddenly switch airing dates to wednesday/thursday? o___o
