One thing about strongholds is that it must be in a studio apartment. Otherwise zombie mobs will be able to climb stairs and threaten housewatchers or the sick.

P.S I added a new thread in the social group. Something not meant to be posted here due to Google's search indexing system.

I'll take the lead pipe. It hits wit authority!
Ok, so during "down time" we're doing maintanence on our weapons and vehicles, reading, building a RC military. So I take it we'll be doing some cooking too? Or exercising in order to stay fit? Also we need to work out a sleeping order, who sleeps when. And perimeter guard duty and a roving watch or patrol.
Also a few board games would be nice too.

Same to me as well, I can stay up for 21 hours in total, then immediately go to sleep (exhaustion possibly) But when someone gets even close, or even if its entering the room I instantly wake up and notice it. Its weird to wake up with just someone entering the room, but in a Zombie Apocalypse scene that would be helpful

Well I guess its what you call "Instincts" that usually just make me wake up with even the softest-door-opening sound

I can get 48+ hours of uptime, with only two hours of sleep in the middle. So if I have to go out alone and perform rescue missions on family/friends, I'm up to the task. I've driven from coast, to coast, to coast, in 5 days. So you can count on me on whatever needs to be done.

just edit and remove the proper names not the general name but a proper name

but looking at the map a good place to stay is either at the polic station or the transportation center

since hotels are darn gosh big to defend

Either the mansion or the museum in my book.

The mansion might have decent surrounding fencing and the museum would have barred windows to prevent break ins as well as roller shutters for the main entrance.

But I'd rather be in the country side.

Where there's food, water, and possibly medical supplies(though this part is secondary).

For you and I it also has to have a good view with nice long fields of fire.

Creepy church?

if inside a church, we can:

-sniper in the bell tower/belfry (well? anyone whose a sniper in our ranks?)
-barricade some windows with available wood
-the church seats (i think they were called pews) can make good covers if piled -together, but imo, the wood is weak
-place strategic ammo piles (either that or you have to run back to the main ammo pile, wasting time)
-anyone know how to make mobility traps? a very VERY deep punji pit or the tripwire gate (the VietCong were noted to make such things as it is non explosive and your thighs and possibly genitals will be impaled) can help, hell even snare traps can stop a zombie in its tracks where you will finish it

a common tripwire grenade trap

no, not this kind of punji pit

I guess this isnt effective as zombies do NOT feel pain

Very cool gentlemen! ZeKeR instead of using a cartridge let's use a 40mm grenade, if we can spare 'em that is!
And instead of strategically placed ammo piles, how 'bout we assign runners for ammo? Or for that matter non-combatants as magazine loaders?

Not only for sniping, but also so we can see when Zombies and thugs are headed our way. I want advanced warning for when we are going to be doing lots of killing of living and undead.

i still prefer a police stations since it has ammo weapon a polic car/van/swat van and and readily accessible radio equipment not to mention secure holding cells where you can at least sleep with a peace of mind

If we manage to "find" some sort of two-way communication we could put spotters and schirmishers up on roof tops. They could give advanced warning and if necessary start a( oh what do you call it when they try to get the attention of the other side off of the main target?).
Also this would give our roving patrol/scavangers time to regroup and our grenadiers time to get a fix on the incoming trouble.
If we get a foot hold on a town or city, how long do we stay?
