Then Archer's coat is a relic of its own right... but such a vague explanation inspires more questions...

Like, does it have any known special properties? And how did he get it? Did he work for the Church?

Archer's red cloth is a burial cloth from someone special, I forgot just who. It has special properties on its own, and it also has symbolisms for Archer himself. As mentioned, he dons it only when he believes he's fighting for something worth it/with someone worth his time.

Here's a question seemingly out of nowhere. Woud it be possible for a Dead Apostle to become an Eirei? o______o;

What happens to a servant if he/she dies?

I mean they are all dead already aren't they? Like Berserker or Lancer who are characters that lived in the past. But then again Archer might be Shirou from the future...
So what happens to a servant if he/she dies in the war? Could they be summoned again?

Servants who have died just return to where they've came. Though thats not same for everyone.

First of all, Servants are already dead. Hence the name, Heroic Sririts.

Spoiler:

The spirits of these Eirei are all stored in the Greater Holy Grail, and in every Grail War, copies of these Eirei's spirits are sent out. This is done to prevent "contamination" of the Eireis. All these copies are representations of the original Eirei spirits in the Greater Holy Grail, retaining only the memories while they were alive.

After they die, the copies are sent back into the Holy Grail. The memories of the War they have participated in is not brought back, but rather, the information they gathered is stored, which is why Eireis already know the weaknesses of those they have faced before, and such.

t's lacking in a few places, but this explanation should suffice.

Basically, when someone becomes an Eirei, their soul is stored in the Hall of Heroes, and when summoned, a copy of their soul is sent out instead with all the necessary knowledge of the era they are sent to.

When their mission is over/dies, the copy is destroyed and the memories/knowledge doesn't go back to the original soul (this is to prevent possible time paradoxes, because Eirei's can be summoned to the past as well as the future.), but a brief record of what they did when they were summoned are stored in books of knowledge that the original soul has access to.

During the Grail War, an Eirei that dies is absorbed into the Holy Grail, to empower it until the last Master/Servant remains.

gosh you guys talk of the heroic souls as like an object/thing erm or toy? that can be used for one purpose and then discarded...also sounds like they are a computer memory...with the grail as the computer and the spirits as the memory...or the grail as a printer and the servents are the printed copies...

even though its somewat true it just doesnt sound right depressing in fact...

Eirei's only gain their original personalities/memories only when summoned during the Grail Wars.

1) Do your decisions in the game have any effect?

2) How come Archer Saber can remember Details drom the last war when only their "data" or "new Information" or how ever it is called correctly is being sent to where ever they are?

3) So, what was that with Kojiro than? He said he was a fake servant because he was summoned by another servant? I don't get it. Does this mean he did not originate in this ... well where ever they come from?
And what did he mean by Sasaki Kojiro does not exist? Did he mean it the way he said it, that the person never lived, or was he referring to himself in the third person at that time?

Sorry about the endless questions, but somehow the more I see FSN, the less I understand what is going on ...

Yes, depending on the key choices you make, the storyline will go to either the Fate/UBW/HF storylines (gotta finish one after the other before the key choices are unlocked. Afterwards, the choices you make will determine if you can finish the storyline, and get either the True or Good ending.

Saber remembers everything because she is not a true Eirei, she is still alive, so she had been fighting as her original soul the entire time. When Saber dies, she returns to the past right before her death, and becomes an Eirei again. While Saber does remember every time she is summoned, to her, it is like a dream.

Archer knows what is going on, because his younger self had fought in the 5th Grail War. But he was not sent back to his original timeline, so things were different enough so not even Archer knows what will happen in the end.

After the battle against Mordred, Saber was mortally wounded. Moments before she died, Saber made a pact with Alaya to become an Eirei in exchange for being granted the chance of seeking the Holy Grail. Because she isn't dead, her original soul is sent out instead.

As for Archer, time have no meaning for Eirei's. As for Archer, for example, imagine his timeline being the same until a key occurs that changes everything.

Lets assume that Archer is the Future Shirou from the Fate Scenerio, and that in the Fate Scenerio, everything that has happened, was ment to happen for Shirou, which eventually leads to the creation of Archer.

Now reset time, go back to the beginning of the 5th Grail War. Everything occurs exactly the same way, only this time, Shirou uses a Command Spell to force Saber to stop before slicing Archer. Archer is now free to move according to his plans. UBW path has begun. This small change becomes the key that causes everything to be different. The timeline has changed so that while Archer has knowledge of the players involved, he no longer knows what will happen. In Archer's perspective, he is now in another timeline. But because Archer is an Eirei, he is unaffected by changes in the timeline, so even if the Shirou from the new timeline does not become Archer, he will still always exist.
