As a side note, I saw Rose Guns Days is out for Android as well. Is there any way to apply the patch to that version?

It would be great to be able to play the Android and iOS versions in English, but unfortunately that is currently not possible.

If you noticed during the end trailer of season 1.. there's a new CG where Leo used 2 guns. My guess is that he'll survive during at the end of season 1... but I dunno whether he'll still survive or not in chinatown arc

..Hopefully he's still alive.

I just finished Season 1 and have to say that it's awesome.

@Witch Hunt:
Please release a partial patch after Chapter 6&7 of Season 1 are finished. That cliffhanger is killing me.

I have to say that RGD is my favorite work by 7th Expansion so far. I've liked all the others before it, but RGD is just straight-up fun. The characters are all great and the story is, well, you could say uncomplicated, but in a good way. Playing this was just very entertaining, and it's going to be a great anime [if they made one of Umineko, they cannot just pass up RGD - it's much better suited for that than Umineko ever was].

On the translation: I've seen a couple of typos, missing words, and a few instances where there was a word too much - they were mostly in chapters three and four, I think. Overall, I must say that WH did a very good job - my reading flow was never really broken by the couple of errors: WH, you did great!

I'm happily looking forward to the next season.

Spoiler for Episode 1 spoilers:

Loved it! Everything after the Alfred arc was intriguing and engrossing. As someone else just mentioned, it was a fun novel. Not incredibly realistic, but nothing Ryukishi has written is. As always, the fight scenes are as grandiose as possible, the imagery rich, with a lot of "follow your heart" type moments if you love cliches like I do. I have to say, I didn't like many of the characters. They didn't feel very fleshed out or real, Leo felt like K1 and Battler (or Buttler without the badassery) and Rose whined too much for my liking. The only character I honestly like was Caleb, but that was just because he wasn't clear cut "Holy shit I'm a bad guy" like Alfred was. I think the most intriguing thing about the story was the present day. I think the story will eventually switch into 2012-2013 for the big grand finale of the final season. I can see the end result being a bit like the atmosphere of Umineko's epilogue but with more action. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the next season wholeheartedly.

I don't really care too much about spoilers, so I've got a few questions to ask those who have season 2 if they want to answer them.

Are there anymore umineko/higurashi references? I'm a sucker for those.

Are there anymore hints towards the grander picture? e.g the present day, Butter turning into a villan (it's gotta happen) the four generals of Chinatown they mentioned.

In terms of quality how does Episode 2 compare with one? Is it a lot better? Same? Worse?

Also, does anyone know how many seasons there are going to be?

There's a character called James Tomitake who is basically a gangster version of Tomitake from higurashi (duh).
There's also a guy called Morris Monobe who is basically Okonogi from Yamainu of Higurashi. He's an elite soldier working for Keirebu

At the end of season 2, Gianna calls Uedera (Wayne) to continue telling the story to Juri (this'll be on season 3), since Gianna was only telling Juri what she heard, while Uedera participated in the actual events (Gianna only arrived in 1950 to Primavera)

The second arc involves mainly Chinese Mafia and, at the end of season 2, a guy called Wan (blue dragon) shows up and tells Lee Meijuu (black dragon) that he'll take care of Madam Rose and Primavera (The issue at hand here would need a big spoiler, though)

As for comparison, I think Season 2 is even better than Season 1. If you liked Season 1, you can look forward to Season 2.

When I have time I was thinking of doing that someday too since towards the end my score dropped

I'll wait for season 3 to be released since I'd have to wait for summer to be able to purchase season 2 anyway...

Hmmm… I wonder if Rose Guns Days is going to do the usual four-episodes thing. I.e. there were four episodes in Higurashi, four in Higurashi Kai, four in Umineko and four in Umineko Chiru. Or in other words, Rose Guns Days Season 4 would be the definitive version (which would most likely be released December 2013).

Alright, finished reading Season 1. And damn it was good, Ryukishi07 delivers again. I'm no good at writing reviews, so I'll just share my favourites and general thoughts.
Fav character: Richard, but how can one not love (or love to hate, I'm looking at you Miguel) all the cast, seriously.
Fav bgm: Duel of Rose for sheer awesomeness, 幻ニ死ス, Land of Rose, Shall We Dance, and of course 愛はオメルタ. Umineko readers surely recognized some tracks like Black Knight or 風 too.

Spoiler for S1 ending:

I loved how the battle kept going while the staff credits were rolling, and chuckled at Ryukishi making Rose's interviews coincide with the RGD seasons release dates.

Also, thanks to Klashikari now Takehito Koyasu's voice is stuck in my head whenever Meijiu is talking. It fits him all too well.

Can't wait for S2 and beyond.
