Well that was definitely weird. It's like the author just wanted to rush to the end....and then set up sequel bait...what?
I could see rushing through to wrap things up and just stepping away. But this is just weird. It wasn't a disaster of an ending, but it was pretty weak. Just rushing through things without really focusing on the characters responding to it being over. Yokoya's turn was pretty weird and unexpected as well. Overall I enjoyed the Liar Game. I just wish it managed to wrap up as well as it could have.

Even if the author came out and officially stated now that the dark government is some fictional country, he still wouldn't dispel the feeling that he used China as its basis. Not a great move, if you ask me.

Caught up with the last 20 chapters or so, didn't know this was over. Bit of a messy final game but I don't mind that much...hell, even the whole explanation behind the LGT was okay if you consider the money they could have rolled in by broadcasting it...but seriously, dark government shutting it down being oh-so-scary was total bs. It's a work of fiction in the first place!!! Akiyama basically wasted his entire time there, Yokoya ultimately lost to his father AND the players, so...at the end of the day, it's only a victory for Nao and the guys who shouldered debts, since those were erased.
If only they all lived happily ever after and there was a moment where Yokoya had a 1 on 1 with his father...this lacks the feeling of closure that should REALLY be there, after all everyone's been through. |
