The trailers have been looking extremely good and faithful to the game. 2B even changes weapons, she's seen with the really big sword whose name I forgot. I thought they'd stick to the default weapons the entire time.

On the contrary, the trailers and title naming scheme shows that it will deviate from the game.

Lily for example is a character that only shows up in the YorHa stage plays, and the Ver. 1.1a title is also reminiscent of how the stage plays are named.

I see that as adding more content, not really deviating. But we'll see what they end up doing.

AFAIK the stage plays were always canon as was most of the other supplemental stuff aside from maybe 2P.

First episode was pretty true to the game so far. The puppet endings are pretty great. I'm curious how far the series will get in 12 episodes... seems like this will probably be two cour.

Apparently, 24 eps total announced. But not clear if it will be a full 2-cour or split-cour. And some people already complaining about 3d use. Its CSM all over again. I just don't get it.

I only played prologue of the game (I really liked it but it is damn nightmare to play without controller). Really liked the adaptation so far.

I just watched the episode. One thing I'll say: it looks absolutely stunning. Visually I think they nailed it. And I'm ok with them seemingly rushing through this ep. There's a lot of story to go through and I hope the show has some surprises still instead of just being a summary of the game.

It didn't feel rushed at all to me. I don't think they skipped anything other than 2B calibrating her new body in the bunker, but it's a sequence that only works in a video game. Same reason they changed the way 9S hacks.

I was amazed how faithful it was, right down to the way 2B climbs ladders. They even kept the machine lifeform trying to revive his brother by feeding him oil from Route B (they're obviously going to fuse A and B, it won't cause any problem).

The cherry on top was them actually adapting the alternate endings. Something to look forward to since I never got them all.

As stated in the ep, 2B and 9S are androids. They regularly back up their data and can switch bodies at will so long as there are spares.

They skipped 2B fighting random mobs between her fight on landing and a boss if it counts.

Yoko Taro was being slippery about whether its an adaptation or a reimagining, but there is a lot of supplemental material out there too. I assume it'll be a 1:1 adaptation until it... isn't anymore but we'll see.

I've never played this game but it always looked interesting. Is it rated M for the panty fanservice in the game and/or the violence?

Anyways, interested in checking the anime out as it's quite different from the rest of the stuff this season (and it's based on a videogame).

Episode 1 was visually stunning. The puppets helped explain their name nomenclature.
