I'm kind of wondering about this game's relation to FF1. Is it a re-imagining? A prequel? Are these the real Warriors of Light or just pretenders? Especially when there's only three of them? What about Dissidia's Warrior of Light ?

I'm on board with theory that said the game looks like will be origin story of Dissidia Garland as:

- Garland artwork used for the title.
- MC looks like an old man (fitting how Garland is older than OG Warrior of Light);
- He used same weapon as Garland, a big two-handed sword, for his main weapon, not scared using his hand too;
- Both FF I and Dissidia implied Garland is previous Warrior of Light that succumb to will of Chaos.

The three party members is interesting indeed considering FF I acknowledged a female White Mage as initial party member.
So either the female party member is kept in secret or this will became another FF XV, where she mainly there for plot purpose despite healing capabilities.

FF origin in a nutshell!

Saw some people played the demo, and looks promising despite the edginess.

The production value seems low (PS2 graphic), probably because the staffs are pressured to release playable demo on such short time.
OTOH you can see the team is confident on their job, likely because SE used to work with KT through Dissidia NT while KT have experience working on Persona 5 Scramble (Jack and his party movement feels Musou-ish while Garland movement feels Dissidia-ish with his walk, evasion and magic attack); looking forward to fight against the Four Fiends in finalized product.

The story is definitely going with idea that Jack and his party come from modern world, isekai-ed to Final Fantasy I world.
Despite the meme there seems to be reason behind why each party members acting like that, such as Jack attitude of all about defeat Chaos ASAP.
Its not wrong to consider Jack, Jed and Ash as the new Sora, Donald and Goofy as their role similar enough to each other. LOL.

Spoiler for People who played FF I might also notice::

- Assuming this is start of the game, Princess Sarah doesn't seem to be kidnapped as she sent the trio on mission to defeat Garland.
- Garland sounds off. In FF I he is prideful veteran knight who consider Warriors of Light are weak as they're newbie compare to him; this is carried to Dissidia where he hardly acknowledged other antagonists strength except for Golbez, Sephiroth and Jecht, which he recognized as other veterans. Here he is so fixated to became Chaos as if he can't think about anything else.

I wonder if we get to see Cid, Meia, Sophie and Graff in this title, since Mobius was also a take on FFI, or whether the story is going to go down an entirely different path. There's a lot of world mixing going on already, so...

Gameplay-wise, I will withhold judgment until a proper release. Team Ninja made Nioh 2, they know their shit, so what's a bit of waiting till they refine this one?

Protagonists from another world? That would explain the title. I know isekai has technically already been done in FFX (even if it's not a "real" isekai), but I'm still wary of this approach. I at least hope they won't turn out to be FF fans, that would be awful.

Yeah, I've been suspecting that they're not from the Final Fantasy world as well, given how Nomura has mentioned they've gone out of their way to make sure the protagonists are different from the Warrior of Light, how much Jack's name stands out compared to the typical FF names, the title, etc.
