Glad to see the topic still going strong. I don't think Gai necessarily favored Lee to where he spent all his teaching on him. Like someone said (too lazy to quote) that Neji had his own style of fighting so he didn't actually implement Gais style into his fighting but still used his training and such into his ninja life. And Tenten is slow and not skilled in fighting (at least from what i saw) so Gai couldn't really teach her anything too special and Lee like Gai was mainly a taijutsu guy so Gai could relate to Lee and Lee had the most heart to better himself. SO those two had more in common i suppose. Im sure if Neji wasn't so arrogant and was more enthused to be taught by such a great Juunin(spelling?) he could have used what Gai taught alot more.

Yeah. Because in the anime Guy says, "I guess the 100th match will be settled by our students." when the turtle stops Lee from doing the Initial Lotus on Sasuke. In the manga he doesn't say that.

So, in the anime, they're dead even, because Guy's students lose. In the manga, Guy's students lose, but he didn't say it was a match...so it doesn't count...50-49.

omg..my eyes r serisously startng to hurt from tryin to catch up on this thread... i think Tenten is a good fighter...and is suposedly very skilled with weopons...she just got stuck with temari who is actually chuunin level and her ability completely craps on tentens ability with throwing weopons , tenten wasnt very adaptable though.

I agree, they should have shown a 10 seconds match at least with kakashi and gai. That would own. I wonder how kakashi will cope with gai's taijutsu, it'll end up being a kakashi's jutsu's vs gais taijutsu match.

Well luckily for Kakashi he is fast enough to adapt to Gais taijutsu enough to adapt to it and copy it. If he were slower then his sharingan would be useless but he can copy the moves. I just want to see what kind of skills Gai has besides the Lotus attacks that would make him 1 up against Kakashi.

He's developed his top-secret anti-Sharingan fighting techniques. I want to see Asuma vs. Guy. They seem just about as quick...maybe Guy has an aerodynamic advantage, though....

hell yea, gai vs asuma would be an incredible match. My money is on gai but after seing what he did to those sound nins i have soem doubts

I don't think Kakashi wants to Copy Gai taijutsu because if he wanted he would already had done that, and even if Kakashi is slower than Gai which i think it is the Sharingan still gives him a bit of advantage, i really want to see what moves Gai pulls to beat Kakashi or anyone for that matter, they should show him fight serious at least once.

You'll probably get his explanation for all this in another, at most, 10-15 episodes.

As far as it not being too useful if Kakashi wasn't going to use a certain technique...Guy's a very emotional person and a fighter. All the taunting that Kakashi was doing to Zabuza...that would drive Guy INSANE. He would be doing those mental tidal wave things the whole time, and Kakashi would just use the openings to punch the crap out of him.

So Guy just devised a method to fight that took away that part of Kakashi's game. Which is good...now Konoha still has a Sharingan specialist, and in addition, someone who's trained to fight against them.

What Zabuza says the second time they meet is that Haku told him Kakashi was hypnotizing him, and using hypnotic suggestion to make Zabuza do certain actions and then Kakashi would finish his sentences...pull his jutsu off faster, etc. This esentially totally scrambled Zabuza's confidence. He was the definition of 0wn3d.

Are you talking about Zabuza or against a certain other person? The one against Zabuza, he hypnotically suggests that he should use that jutsu...the one he had performed before, and Kakashi just gets it off faster because he knows what Zabuza is going to do.

Spoiler: the sharingan also has an ability of a type of hypnotism when u look in there eyes, gui explains that basically his anti sharingan method is to not look into there eyes and to look at there feet, thats all it really is, it will be comming up sumwhat soon in the anime

Spoiler: But yes i know a certain level of hypnotism was involved...but if you look at the mange you can see it can cast some influence on the person and better yet control someones mind.
