Very similar feel but I don't think it's a "spinoff". Anyway amusing first episode. I think I prefer Rabbit, but it's far from bad. That Hinako's clothes really hide her figure. I mean, that last scene in the bath was a big surprise.

Episode 1
That was fun. Really catchy theme songs (both OP & ED). The main characters are fun to watch too ranging from the Hinako to Kuina. There's even a maid too. Got a slight GochiUsa vibe from this with the maid gimmicks. Out of all the main characters introduced, I like Kuina and Mayuki so far.

There was way more energy in the OP and ED than I was expecting.
Surely there must be some better explanation for why Kuina is eating books. Aside from just being a glutton. If that was the problem I'd expect her to try to eat other things that weren't food. There's something to be said for jumping right into the deep end, but for a girl with Hinako's level of shyness I'd personally suggest starting with something a little milder than stage acting and work her way up to there. Even people who don't normally get nervous in conversations can suffer from stage fright. What an eccentric group of adorable oddballs. Looks like at least one more girl is going to join the main group, with a sixth hanging around but not being considered a part of the main cast. So... cute (weird) girls doing cute things while showing off their quirkiness. Seems good for now.

Aha, so this is the season's CGDCT show, and I quite enjoyed it, the whole 'shy girl wants to act' thing could be a good story and excuse for hi-jinks too.
Also gets brownie points for the 'West Side Story' reference in the eyecatch. I actually went back for a second look at that one. Last edited by Dop; 2017-04-07 at 15:42. |

Well this might be a bit strange.
But not bad. Kind of felt like ideas were taken from a lot of similar type shows and just smashed together for this. But the acting focus should let it establish itself pretty well as time goes on. Overall the characters so far are fairly likable and certainly have some out there quirks. Kind of surprising that such a big club (that puts on major productions that other schools want to see) can just go on a long-term hiatus like that. I suppose without the advisor there isn't much that can be done, but pretty lax in terms of letting that person go off on a journey and leaving students in the lurch. There is some GochUsa vibe, but yeah I'd still put it above this one even just comparing the first episodes. In terms of the leads Cocoa had more impact than Hinako does. Even scarecrow powers don't quite even that out. But, every show should get a chance to establish itself. So let us see what happens next.

Lol if you can't see the similarities, you aren't even trying. It is a carbon copy, no debate. |

I would also disagree to be honest ... but would not say there are no similarities. Very generally speaking (as mentioned above) it reminds me of a cross between the random zaniness of Anne Happy and the general storyline of GochUsa, yes - but to be fair that storyline was only in terms of introduction.
We still have 11 or so eps to go, and I have a feeling the character and nature of the main characters interactions will definitely be "it's own thing", and (as you probably already know) that is sorta the bread and butter of the stories serialized in most the Kirara manga variants - the humor and character development of the cast, sometimes sprinkled with actual story progression (like last season's Urara or Joukamachi Dandelion).

Where did you see that one?

Also, using your standards of comparing anime, I could just as easily list off a group of things this series has in common with Boku no Hero Academia and declare the two series to be carbon copies of each other, despite the fact that they aren't even the same genre. Try opening your mind a bit more and spending a bit less time trying to pigeonhole things.

Hmm, based on episode 2, I guess we'll be seeing some theater performance soon now that the girls formed a group together collectively known as the Hitotose Troupe. Decent development overall as it gave every character some way to showcase their personality.
I hope this will be successful.
