Farewell, Morimori's long hair. I miss you already!
Also: Watched the newest episode tonight and when the ED came on, I realized this was the tune I had been humming all week. It really sneaked up on me to become the soundtrack of my heart for now, especially when I am writing. It sounds so upbeat and energetic. |

Long hair or short hair, Morimori-chan is still a cute. It's a miracle she doesn't wear glasses after hours of game play in front of PC.
Just marathoned the entire anime today, I usually avoided any mmorpg-irl or isekai theme anime/manga but this one is actually enjoyable and it doesn't have an OP MC, but a very cute heroine (male) instead.

Koiwai is a very interesting character but I feel like he's someone that I would have a hard time getting along with in real life. His sense of humor can be very off color at times, and though he tries to push Sakurai and Morioka forward his methods are at times...questionable (though I admit, my heart went doki-doki when Sakurai ran all the way to see Koiwai just to make sure his coworker hadn't actually done anything weird to Morioka. We're rooting for ya, Sakura-chan!)

Hooo boy, the suspense is killing me! They really had to cut it at that moment when Sakurai just realized it was the same gal from years ago!
EDIT: thought I should add in something about what Sakurai said. I played as a girl in an MMORPG before, but not because of anonymity. Nobody cares who I was IRL, and the people that knew me were already my rl friends anyway. Most people would do it because girl characters get free stuff most of the time, or for the attention (which is exactly the opposite of what Lily has been doing in this series btw) but I did it because if I was stuck in my chair for hours grinding while staring at a character in game, it might as well be something that's pleasing and interesting to see, like a cute girl with ribbons on her hair fighting hoards of zombies or whatever, for example

God, this show is just so relatable. Mixing RL and online life?! No, no! You don't have to be a gamer to feel averse to that. Even though a lot of my RL friends are people I first met online there are still aspects of my online life I don't want even them to be involved with, even if it's just a blog where I squee about cute fluffy animals everyone knows I love, or babble about shows everyone knows I watch. Making a side-account just for the sake of connecting to someone I know IRL is a feeling I know all too well... (It's a bit unreasonable, and I know that a lot of people see absolutely nothing wrong with freely mixing RL and online, but I'm from a generation that was taught that unless it's for work you shouldn't put anything online that can be used to identify you IRL. I guess that worked a bit too well, lol. And ironically, the fact that I'm not on Facebook is now putting a bit of a dent in some of my RL relationships!)
Which is just one more reason for me to feel averse to Koiwai. He's been annoying me for a while now, and while I suspect part of it is Maeno Tomoaki (he's been hit or miss for me recently and in this role he's more miss than hit), and that to a degree it's intentional, he was really grating in this episode. I know he's here to meddle and move the plot along, but ugh, he's just so annoying. Btw, with this and Osomatsu-san, Sakurai Takahiro is on fire this season. He's just so good. In this show Noto Mamiko is also awesome, and they have great chemistry, but Sakurai does such a good job with this (let's face it) not very "deep" character. |

Personally I also prefer to keep my online activity separate from my real-life activity. On the few occasions when the two have met it was either very funny or down right embarrassing (a colleague once asked to see my fanart so I showed some to her, but I was so embarrassed).
As for this episode, I'm kind of amused that Moriko named her new character Molly, which in Japanese sounds just like Mori. XD |

After watching episode 8, I have to admit...this show really makes me like most of the main cast including Sakurai. They make us understand him more through some clever storytelling and narratives. I also feel like he and Moriko really are similar and can connect on a personal level.
2 more episodes. This almost feels like a social journey.

Only 2 more episodes to go...sad, will miss this series. When starting out, I never expected I'd enjoy this show as much as I do. Nothing major happened in the series (action/drama wise) but, and I agree with Stark700, in that the storytelling was cleverly done to make it very interesting and entertaining to watch.
I wonder if we'll get to see meet the real life versions of the other MMO characters that were in her group? Wish this could get a second season. I will definitely watch it. And this better not be an open-ending with regards to Moriko's and Sakurai's relationship.

Episode 9:
I'm guessing this show will resolve Moriko and Sakurai's relationship next time after all the buildup and development. I still think those two make a good couple but neither are really taking the initative. Moriko is just seems way too timid while Sakurai often creates awkward mood between the two. Ooh that cliffhanger. Next episode should be interesting. Oh and I think Moriko should go on at least another date with Sakurai.

Uh oh. A woman just showered at a guy's place. I can't blame her for freaking out. That's... well, that's sending some signal right there. Not sure how universal that is among young Japanese, but it's something you'd usually do before getting physically intimate. Not that something like that could possibly happen in a cute and family-friendly series like this. But just hinting at it, wow. Talk about cliffhanger.
