I wouldn't say Kurisu is dead just yet. The timeline hasn't been completely shifted; so it's possible she might not be a lab member anymore, but as of yet I think she's still alive.

Man, you all really want Kurisu to be dead, don't you? Wasn't there all this talk about her being dead a few episodes back too, when she mysteriously wasn't in the preview for the next episode?

This episode was awkward and at times ridiculous.

I will admit, however, that for the first time in this anime I felt some sympathy for a character, and that was Suzuha. It wasn't a lot of sympathy, but it was more for what we're told she did given how we know she grew up, which is the best characterization in the show thus far. But it's still pretty bare bones compared with other visual novel adapted anime, and is heavily outweighed by the terribad of the main cast.

Though still very weak, this was the best episode of the series. However, I suspect that this might be the climax and the series will be down-hill from here.

"Time" will tell wahahahaha.

I guess Kurisu is now dead? Spoiler: I was impressed with the hints as to who "Barrel Titor" were. It was pretty obvious since a few episodes ago that Suzuha was Daru's daughter, given their looks and interaction (but Daru hit on her, what a disgusting moment) and was pretty much spelled out when we got a look at the same of the time machine. But I thought it was pretty clever that the "John Titor, daughter of Barrel Titor" was a Japanese-English cipher and a play on "taru" = "daru". I love this stuff, and even in a horrible show like Steins I can't help but admire it. But the sudden, spontaneous father-daughter moment was pretty offensive. Suzuha and Daru barely interacted before that "tearful" goodbye, and even though they hit it off pretty well, it was't very realistic or even believable. It looked like Daru was suddenly trying to act fatherly, and Suzuha acting daughterly, when seconds earlier they were equals. A father like Daru would not know how to handle an adolescent daughter close to his own age...a certain famous visual novel explored the same idea, but had a much more plausible approach to youthful parents. Suzuha having trouble was predictable even before the time machine was fixed, because the series isn't over yet! Her explanation for what happened is interesting - why didn't her memories transfer over immediately, and was there a significance to the date they came back in (wasn't that 2000?). Looking at the next episode, one has to wonder where memories are "stored". Does Steins writers postulate a Jungian soul as an immutable source of memories, or does the world record its own memories, or are memories pulled from parallel worlds after they're sent adrift in imaginary space? Suzuha's fate in this regard was interesting. What Suzuha did with her life was interesting. It suggests that there may be no coincidences in Steins, and that all of the events that have played out are due to a deterministic fate. Though still very weak, this was the best episode of the series. However, I suspect that this might be the climax and the series will be down-hill from here.
