I'm thinking the hand probably isn't the weapon. It most likely transforms into a gun or folds up into the arm. There is concept art from the largest Jaeger featurette that shows Tango with a hand cannon. Probably not the same one. But you get the idea.

I was one of the fools who was sure GD's nuclear turbine engine would just be an engine. But I was proven wrong.

From what we see of Gipsy Danger (which has an identical weapon) in the latest TV Spot, it's not really a GOD FINGER and more like a Megaman-style arm cannon. Here's a fuzzy screencap from the latest PV showing it in action:

Actually, notice how in the first shot, you can actually make out the arrangement of the fingers on Gipsy Danger's Plasma Caster. So yes, it probably could be used as a THIS HAND OF MINE GLOWS WITH AN AWESOME POWE- *ehem*

There was a review I read a few days ago, the reviewer did mention that he saw something that looked like...

Well God Finger itself was a ranged attack, so I'm still cool.

But it would be insane if this giant Guncannon ends up with God Finger, it should be called Godcannon.

The ranged version is Sekiha Tenkyoken iirc, the God Finger is the one where the enemy is gutted with HEAT END!

Also, new TV Spot, though not much new footage (that's worth much anyway):

Heard a very nice interview with Guillermo del Toro on public radio (http://www.cbc.ca/q/ Q with Jian Ghomeshi).

I have to say I'm looking forward to this more than almost any movie this year at this point.

I can imagine it now...

"Oh man, the kaiju broke through our big expensive wall that did nothing to protect us! Quick, signal Striker Eureka, get their asses on the scene!"

"Um...no...we already decommissioned it. We fired the pilots, Jaeger is in storage..."

"Oh....right.."

There's already one in the prequel comic: the test-type Jaeger known as Brawler Yukon, which first engaged in Vancouver.

Dude that's super old school and super awesome. They almost always use actors and TARENTO for dubs now. Nice to see traditional seiyuu headline a dub again.

I hope she will use Rei Ayanami' s voice. That alone will be enough reason for me getting the Japanese version of this movie
