They're great if you like pop music.

Except for country music, I generally don't like more recent pop music and much of its sub-genres, with a few exceptions and that usually because the compositional writing was done very well. I already liked a lot of anime music but didn't care much for the material being put out there as Jpop. But a friend introduced me to SNSD and instantly I fell in love with them. Then I checked out other Kpop groups and one by one I found artists like CSJH (the most technically outstanding performers among girl groups as singers/dancers), Fin.K.L (Ock Joo Hyun and Lee Hyori being incredible standouts), KARA, Brown Eyed Girls, Shinee, SuJu, Big Bang, 2PM, Wonder Girls, SS501, god, DBSK, etc. and I've expanded my taste to really like this form of pop.
SM Entertainment properties, from Boa to CSJH to SNSD to Shinee to SuJu to DBSK are particularly very interesting to follow, as are JYP properties like Wonder Girls, 2PM and others. I've been forever waiting for the return of Kim Sung Hee, an incredible vocal talent who left KARA for reasons I just don't accept.
