Maybe my enthusiasm is high because I recently read right up to date in the manga (ch40, anyway), but I thought this was a great episode. Nakahara Mai is just absolutely perfect as Maria. That laugh matches the lightness and energy of her stepping across the tables exactly. And the almost-biting scenes ('delicious') were appropriately chilling.

I'm also reminded how much I like the voice of Suwabe Junichi (Kain). Scenes like Yuki jumping up onto the balustrade and finding Ichijou were also just about ideal, it seemed to me. And Miyano Mamoru (Zero) is really pulling it off.

It's a self-admitted speedsub. But, hey, it's worth giving people an option to watch or wait. ^_^

I love subs to be quick, and I hate to see any sub criticised, so I took a look and I don't think the Chihiro sub is bad at all. Maybe not perfectly smooth English, but the translation seems decent to me. I've seen some subs by groups with long histories and great reputations that are much less accurate, anyway.

I suspect Chihiro translates from Chinese subs in some cases, since they are recruiting Japanese or Chinese translators on their website. I think that's a good method for getting a sub out quickly, especially if someone who knows some Japanese edits the draft.

Wonderful episode, anyway, and I enjoyed the sub.

Mirakuru Member Join Date: May 2007	Spoiler for ep9: New OP scenes~ ^0^ This episode covered chapter 14 and parts of 15 (I think that was it).. there's a certain scene I am anticipating in this arc, but I think it'll be around 3 episodes until the anime reaches that point. =[ Anyways, I certainly liked the feel of this episode.. you can sense the bad vibes and omens. ^^ I don't know why, but watching this episode right after reading chapter 40 feels so complementary. xD Strange~ I can't wait for the next episode.. where we finally reach double digits! xD

Now that we get no more emoness from Zero it has become a lot better, and what a mysterious start. So that is the woman who killed his family and she seems like someone who enjoys torturing.
