Forgot where I read it, but Fate allegedly met both Erio and Carol during incidents involving Lost Logia. And Fate, being the awesomely awesome person she is, decided to bring them into her family.

I believe that was only in reference to Erio. She rescued him sometime ago. Carol... I've never seen Fate mentioning her before.

Also, if they were part of her family before, it wouldn't make sense that this is the first time they've met.

Well whatever I read said the same thing applied to Carol, except that it was a separate incident from the one that she met Erio in.

I dunno here. Adoption paperwork was slow?

The last bit of the manga had Carol being sent off to Mid-Childa from wherever she originated from though. So it's not surprising that Erio and Carol haven't met.

Digging through the chapter again, it seems that Carol does in fact know Fate personally, though it didn't say why/how.

... btw, did she officially adopt her as well? Or is it assumption?

From what I remember, Fate couldn't technically adopt either of the kids, so it was supposedly up to former Admiral Lindy to cover for that in terms of being official. =P

But I guess they're assumed to be adopted.

Yes, Caro is been adopted by Fate, I do belive it is in Chapter 6 of StrikerS manga....

Base on my somewhat acceptable level of chinese, they refer to Fate as her guardian... So she didn't actually adopt I guess (But it's not much of a difference...)

监护人does mean guardian, but I do belive it can be used as "person in custody of" since the word is a little stronger then guardian and does impiles a adopted relationship but I only have a middle school chinese education so I can also be wrong...
