I really wonder if Maia is reincarnation of a Shu or a cat or something. i believe in ep 2 the cleaning ladies start sneezing for some reason when she first met them.
Also the jealously is starting already?

I have no idea why you think Maia might be Shush. Anyway, loli nonsense aside (which was sadly my biggest complaint for EVOL and here they have it in the third episode) I enjoyed this episode, the series seems to be right on track. Also, more meta referencing! Yay! And unlike EVOL it doesn't seem to make fun of the previous series (yet).

They were sneezing because of the Kanji monster which made people sick (because it was made from the Kanji for sickness) not because Maia's actually a cat.

I know the dog thing soured everyone in Evol but let's not assume that's going to be a thing every series now.

It's funny that 3 eps already and the shy girl has yet to do anything. It's like they're assuming everyone is going to hate her already because they hated Mikono.

This episode had a much better feel, in relation to the original =03! I hope the subsequent episodes can match this tempo, though I hope that they'll start doubling up at some point; it'd be a waste to only have two pilots piloting at a time when they have at least 5 machines available, as well as having them downgrade gattais to two people in the first place.

This is not uncommon to Aquarion. It was quite the number of episodes before Jun and/or Tsugumi did anything either.

I didn't hate Mikono because of her shyness, I hated her because she came off as a self absorbed brat who found her perfect match in the reincarnated dog turned human doormat.

Maiya... is a lost cat. The cat even likes her. She's the reincarnated pet and the Shy girl is reincarnated Mikono.

At least give a pet and pet partnership.

The MC still lives in few words but at least its meaningful. Minus the savior part.
