It sure does!
Bleach is basicly going in circles for several years now. The moment they got into HM and big fights had started.

And most importantly a huge lack in positive character deaths! actually there are no positive character deaths yet I lost cound of all the bad guy deaths... if Kubo had killed atleast one or two characters, story could have been a lot better.

^ Lol, that is why I said Hokuto no Ken is still so original. You will lose count with all the death of main characters there. And believe it or not, there are no magical resurrections either. There is HnK on one side and Bleach on the other with all the rest being somewhere in between.

But if you really want to know the forefather of shounen formulas, that would be Saint Saya. It only matters how well all the rest tribute it.

I wouldn't even mind it running in circles IF those circles were the result of some kind of deliberate planning ... but meh .... anyways... we don't have to talk about lack of creativity with the anime fillers ... but sadly the manga is also spiraling downward imho ... I was kinda happy with some of the latest chaps.. but it was rather a "being happy that SOMETHING finally happens" than a "hey great chapter, this was rly awesome happiness"

Moral message of the story... Know when to stop.
That counts both for the mangaka AND the readers.

3 years ago, I liked Bleach more than Naruto.

Now Naruto Shippuden is out, its storyline is awesome. Bleach's main storyline (even in the manga) has been repetitive garbage for the last hundred chapters or so - it has numerous of loopholes and utter plot-kai stupidity.

Bleach <<< Naruto

back in 05 everyone was bleach!!!! but now....in 10.....with 3 years of the same arc, people are getting impatient.

tite just needs to move the story along in a faster pace to make sure he gets new and old readers to keep coming back.

Hmm, never heard about it. Might check it out.

Right now I just had finished Claymore and I must say that it does meet my expectations... slight lack in male characters but atleast females are not the prinecesses who needs to be saved

Claymore is a pseudo-serious attempt at portraiting females as strong while down to it, it's just an indirect form of fan service. Berserk is true and genuine at showing the frail side of female warriors without making an ass out of their gender (that much)

Well atleast something different. Seeing hero guys all the times gets old...
And about fanservice... duno... if they would be always getting naked then yeh but like this I really wouldn't call it a complete fanservice.

But will take a look, Barsek is mentioned a lot lately...

It's because the continual comparisons to Claymore, a recent series, brought back attention to the series.
Which is a very similar issue regarding lack of creativity on its own.

basically women in berserk are weak and get raped all the time.

sometimes almost a horse comes into play, too.

^ Men and boys are not spared either (flashaback at Guts's childhood, Griffith's youth cough). And come on, it is still more realistic this way that portraiting women as super swordsmen or paper clothed bimbos falling for dirkheads.

please, define bimbo, because there is not one claymore acting like a bimbo in the comic.

it's not like it bothers me if they get some ideas from dragonball. it was one of the most popular anime/manga series of all time. I really like bleach, so if it's made better by not being 100% original, then it's ok with me.
