As I suspected, they're using the unused DVD art as the mini-poster things for DVDs 4-6

Also note that this DVD originally came in a black case, and I myself put it in a clear case to make it consistant with the other DVDs
..They kept that poster in?..I really don't get that poster O_o
Hau,I want to hear Satoshi's voice!...What episode those the new volume come up to?

One-shot? Noo, it was it's own arc and game XD And as the poster above said, vital: to show more of Rika and how she's thought of my the villagers, see her mysterious insight on things, introduce Akasaka, show the Yamainu, ect.

I find the box is rather odd looking.
It doesn't look very proffesonal,it just has screenshots, the episodes and information about the company and dvd.

if you're basing that on my screenshot, remember that I have it on the reversable cover, the actual back cover you see when you see it in a store or when it arrives in the mail is different.

The actual back cover has Episode descriptions, only 3 screenshots, and more details.

Does anyone know if they will be releasing a box set (DVDs 1-6) ? I would like to buy all of the first season, but I don't want to spend a lot of money buying each dvd seperately, though the art box is very shiny~. I looked on the funimation site, and it said "Box set coming soon" But you never know, should I buy each dvd or wait it out for the box set?

Also, if I could get clarification; The starter set is just episodes 1-5, and the art box is episode 1 with an art box for the other dvds? I keep on coming across different explainations of each.

Thank you

I wasn't aware that a release date had been announced for Vol 6, let alone a complete box set.

The When They Cry: Starter Set contains Vol 1 and an art box, nothing more.

Here is what has been so far announced.
So Starter Set = Art Box plus Vol 1

http://funimation.com/whentheycry/ I got the info from this site.

Go to Product Info and it says Vol. 6 December 23rd '08 Just in time for the holidays?

Also there is a link in Product Info for "Box Set" but when you click on it, it only says coming soon.

Thanks by the way, for the info

Grr... Borders didn't have it, so I had to ask them to order it.

That was on Wednesday.

I just got the starter set and the rest of volumes today xD. They look alot cooler than I thought they would and the added bonus of the mini posters is a nice touch. I'm a happy panda right now xD.

What, the manga?
Yeah, I ordered it myself back in August from the Borders website. I don't think that the volume was shipped yet, since the last chapter's coming out this month, so expect it late this month to early next month to mid-next month.

I must admit, with the DVDs... I am way more satisfied than I thought I would be. The mastering done on the video is very colorful, crisp, and sharp. They also did a good job on the scrubbing the sound. Hopefully, the second season will get picked up next year.

Ok so random "possibly" stupid question...

Does Funimation still use the English voices Geneon used for their DVD releases. Because no offense to anyone who somehow took a liking to them...

They stink. ~~Whew!~~ Well most anyway.

I have been trying to find out about this for awhile now...I don't normally post much, just browse...so I figured I'd ask. XD

Funi are only producing the DVDs for Geneon. They have no control over what the DVD contains. Hell, Funimation isn't even written on the box, not even in small letters.

To me, I found the english voices leaving much to be desired, unfortunately.

Makes me wonder what the show would have been like using a different voice studio, but for some reason, Bang Zoom has been getting a lot of shows recently, and I'm not too crazy about some of the voices they've been using.

Also, maybe a few extras would have been nice, but I'm not sure how much content was on the R2 dvds originally.

I must admit though, I did like the box :3

I heard that the dvds that geneon dubbed will be used, but for kai and dvd 5 and 6 (??) they will use other dubs....

That's what I've heard though, I don't know how many of the dvds geneon dubbed originally, but if they are doing Kai, then who knows.
Also, I wasn't a fan of the dub...but the more you listen to it, the more you get used to it, rather than liking it I've found.
Ehhh... Everyone's different...

Have you got any proof that Funimation has licensed the second season? Because if not then I think the entirety of your rumor is rendered questionable.
