Not necessarily a spoiler, considering his injuries are already known well before this chapter: I'm really hoping that once her Quirk has 'recharged', Eri can Rewind away Aizawa's lost eye & leg so he can get back to active Hero-ing...

I'm mostly curious how the author intends to show Japan coming back from this. Like, okay, we know the heroes will win because it's that kind of story. But they established last week that almost every business has gone bankrupt in Japan and the yen's value has tanked. You don't just "recover" from that, especially when you can't afford imports.

In fact, given the vague timeline of this arc, how is anyone staying fed? How are the jails staying operational?

Easy. He won't show it. AFO gets defeated, everyone celebrates. Then immediately after that a ten year timeskip showing the grown up class A and Japan thriving again. The end.

Sadly that's probably what will happen. Or maybe even just a 2-3 year timeskip but still somehow everything's fine.

I've seen a few people theorize that he was trying to destroy the trap, but it wouldn't work because it's going to be revealed that Monoma also copied Aizawa's quirk.

Yep, this is what I suspect as well. If I recall, Monoma can copy up to three at a time, and that was months ago in-story, so he can probably either copy more now or the copy lasts longer.

That would make sense. I think it's obvious he's copied Aizawa's quirk because it's just way too useful, but I didn't think he could use it at the same time as Kurogiri's. I don't really remember how his quirk works, but yeah, he could have leveled up like Shinsou anyway.

The villains get ready to destroy the cages, with Dabi saying it'll only take him three seconds to break free! However, this is part of the heroes' plan.... as separate teams make sure to push their respective opponents into the warp gates! However, when Deku and Bakugou are about to enter assigned gate, Deku is mysteriously pulled into a different one, instead....

All Might orders Fatgum to take care of the remaining scrub villains who weren't sucked into a portal, as well as to protect Aoyama. He also tells Monoma to return to Aizawa's side. Now, phase 2 of the plan can begin! Several of the top heroes, with Endeavor and Hawks at the forefront, confront AFO! Endeavor points out that AFO's own warp quirk is inferior to Kurogiri's, but while the master villain praises their divide and conquer strategy, he still sees flaws with it. For instance, he considers it unwise to have Deku face off against Shigaraki. Furthermore, he questions the #1's decision to have his youngest child face off against his brother.... thus continuing the family's cycle of abuse.

Meanwhile, at one of the battlefields, the fortified UA, Bakugou and Best Jeanist are facing off against Shigaraki. However, Bakugou points out that the villains pulled Deku into a different portal. And as it turns out.... the battlefield he was taken to was Toga's! Somehow, she was able to snatch him away from his respective battlefield without triggering his danger sense....!!!!

Hey, I was right that Bakugo would pair with Best Jeanist. Just didn't expect those two to team up with Deku (well, plan to) to fight Shigaraki.

Realistically, Bakugou and Jeanist shouldn't be able to last more than ten seconds against Shigaraki. Curious to see how Bakugou's plot armor will protect him.

^Clearly, Horikoshi will take a page from the movies and have Deku lend OFA's power to Bakugou so he can fight Shigaraki on (at least as close as possible to) equal footing. But of course, that also means that Kacchan will job to him Vegeta-style until Deku miraculously returns to the proper battlefield and save his lover BFF from certain doom just in the nick of time! Oh, won't that moment be beautiful!

So, I was thinking about how Touga could use Twice's power going forward. They already established that copy blood will function identically to real blood back when he did a transfusion from a copy to keep Touga alive. This means, at minimum, she can turn that one drop of blood into an infinite supply of blood. And if she has the specs to copy someone (which should either be those Twice knew if she gains his knowledge, or those she cares about if not which would mean Deku and Uravity at minimum), she could have an infinite supply of their blood as well.

If she's beyond salvation, that makes her a massive threat. But if she isn't, then Twice could wind up being her salvation since she won't have to attack others for their blood anymore, as she'd have an unlimited source from copies.

Even so, Bakugou vs. Shigaraki seems more interesting to me than Deku vs. Shiga. Simply because I don't see Bakugou trying to save the crazed serial killer.

This one focuses entirely on Team Bakugou vs. Shigaraki. As the heroes gather, Best Jeanist is worried because Deku isn't with them. Bakugou correctly surmises that Deku was probably pulled into a different portal. Tamaki (aka Sun Eater) is also worried, as OFA was crucial to the plan, and Nejire says they need to warn the other hero teams of the situation. As for Shigaraki, after surveying his surroundings, he realizes that their battlefield is floating in the sky! Also, he's been isolated from all the other villains, so he has no choice but to fight alone. He tries to use Decay on the ground, but hidden within are iron plates that launch him into the air, and into an electrical force field!

Before the villain can recover, Jeanist restrains him with wires and slams him to the ground! As he tears the wires off, Shigaraki realizes that the iron plates are a measure specifically designed to counter his decay. He tells Jeanist that their strategy is moot if he simply destroys all the plates, but he soon discovers that the broken ones are instantly replaced! Jeanist is confident that they have more than enough resources to deal with him, and says the floating UA is a fortress specifically built to defeat the villain! Inside the building, we see its inner structure at work: Power Loader and Cementoss work with Hatsume and Momo to replace the missing plates. Momo is even given a steady supply of food by Lunch Rush so her quirk can last longer.

Back outside, Jeanist explains they've studied Shigaraki's power since the last war and his more recent battle with Star. This arena was the solution Hatsume came up with, adding her own ideas to the modifications made by the principal. Furthermore, this upgrade wouldn't have been possible without the collaboration between Momo and several of UA's teachers. As for the electric barrier, it's being powered by Kaminari, Fukidasahi (the manga kid, who's making electricity through SFX, lol), and a couple other students from different years with electric quirks. Jeanist concludes that none of those fighting care about money or prestige.... they just want to protect the future. Bakugou and Mirko then launch an attack on Shigaraki! The villain prepares to counter with a shock wave, but.... he's unable to make one. Why? Because nearby, Monoma is using Aizawa's erasure on him! What's more, Manual is moistening his eyes with water so he can keep staring down the villain! And since Aizawa himself is sitting next to Monoma, he can make damn near indefinite usage of the erasure quirk! This is essentially the perfect plan to deal with Shigaraki....

....That is, if not for one hitch: Deku's absence. But another problem arises: Suddenly, numerous hands burst forth from one of Shigaraki's arms! Everyone's confused, since he never used such an attack before. As he slaps Mirko with his cluster of arms, Shigaraki tells Aizawa that he once thought he was cool, but is disappointed by his role in the current plan....!!!!

Well, this just confirms that Stars sacrifice was pointless. Right now Shigaraki is actually stronger than the last time he fought the heroes.

I underestimated the level of preparation of the heroes. I'm loving what they did here. They created the perfect "coffin" for Shigaraki thanks to the Principal and Hatsume's genius and optimized the use of everyone's quirk to make it work. Really good stuff.

If everything had gone according to plan, the odds would have been in heroes' favor.

Now, now, I think it's unfair to say that when we're still so early in the battle. The heroes' plan is solid enough.... the only hiccup is Deku's absence. But even without him, they've done well so far, so I definitely wouldn't say Star's sacrifice was in vain. Besides, she may have left one last surprise to spring on Shigaraki/AFO as the battle reaches its climax, who knows?

Anyway, with that being said, new week, new chapter:

The heroes are confused by Shigaraki's new attack, and ask Monoma if there's something wrong with the erasure. However, he says it's working just fine. The villain himself explains that this isn't a quirk in action, but merely a result of his mutation. Just as people naturally grow hair and nails, his body can now naturally grow extra flesh. So rather than a quirk, this is more a byproduct of his evolved body.... the end result of the "quirk singularity" theory proposed by Dr. Garaki. The villain says this represents the future potential of superhuman society, but the heroes are too narrow-minded to understand its implications!

Nonetheless, the heroes continue to fight! Mirko lost her prosthetic limbs to the hands, but the support team gives her some spare ones in a jiffy! As the heroes banter among each other, Deku manages to contact Mandalay through her telepathy! He informs Bakugou's team that Toga pulled him into the wrong portal. He's about to ask Monoma to transport him to UA, but a scream is heard and their connection gets cut! We're then introduced to Deku's current battlefield: Okuto Island, an island that's 200km off the Pacific coast. On the island is Okuto Aquarium, a popular tourist attraction that's run by Gang Orca!

Currently, Orca and his team are battling a Noumu, who's teamed up with Moonfish (that one villain Tokoyami took out during the training camp arc, remember). As for Deku, he tells Ochako that he has no choice but to return to UA on his own. However, just as he's about to take off, he's stopped by Toga, who begs him not to leave because she loves him! Oddly, Deku's Danger Sense still doesn't work, despite Toga swinging her knife at him. He then recalls the quirk's activation conditions and decides to ask her: What does she desire from him? She replies that she wants him to be her lover. This confirms Deku's theory: Toga attacks people out of a pure sense of love and admiration, not ill intent. Thus, Danger Sense doesn't recognize her actions as being "dangerous"....!!!!
