his episode wasn't perfect, but I bumped my rating of 8 that I was going to give after watching the RAW, to an Excellent 9 after watching the sub. Finally Shirou's going to get swordsmanship lessons. Who better to learn, than from Saber? She's gonna kick his ass bad for days to come.
+1 for Shirou's perception skills. Not only does he sense Saber doing her thing even though their connection is weak, but he also caught a glimpse of Lancer(though he couldn't recognize him) who was dashing away in the shadows. Shirou has some seriously high perception rolls or a knack for noticing things he shouldn't. Can't wait to see what's in store for us next episode.

So basically, if I take Caster's master as X, then:
X is Caster's master Caster is Assasin's master Hence Caster is both a master and servant, while Assasin might not nessasarily be X's servant as well? And basically, there is 2 ways to explain why the situation exists: 1) Assasin's master is no more(died, got killed, used up command mantras), and he became Caster's servant. 2) After X summoned Caster, she (Caster) summoned Assasin. (which would seem kinda weird. ) Correct? |

Basically there's a lack of qualified Magus in the Grail War this time round.
The basic rule state that there must be 7 Servants in order for the Grail War to commence. Since the Caster class is also a Magus in itself, hence the Caster-Assasin relation shown. But there's a drawback to a Servant summoning another Servant. |

Great episode, well done in almost every of its parts. A delightufl set of fighting scenes, along with really interesting speechs, animation at its highest levels since the beginning. And finally, this time I'm not disappointed by anyone's behaviour. Saber reckless? But that's due to her proud nature. Shirou severe? But that's due to his generous nature. I don't see anything wrong in someone being himself/herself.
Assassin is a wonderful new character indeed, not only he's well skilled in fighting, he's also quite wise and accurate in talking. Rider isn't so bad as I originally thought (she follows her master's instructions without hesitations, after all). It's a shame that her eyes are always covered, although after having read about her true identity (through the spoilers..) I realize this can't be helped. As for Caster, I agree with who said she's too cute to stay always such covered. Hope she will show at least her face, next time. Speaking of showing... Saber's scene in episode 10... booked 9/10 to this episode by the way

I gave this episode an eight instead of my intended nine, after the second watch through... because of the pace. Yes, Assassin is cool the fight scene was cool, the chat with Rin was fun, etc. But the actual pacing of the Fight Scene™ was too jerky, Saber's LightShow® was too extended... basically, the middle of the episode wasn't as smooth as it should have been. If it had been executed a bit smoother, this ep would have gotten a nine.
Hell, this episode would have gotten a ten out of me (first time for f/sn) apart from the lack of Rin. Yes, she was there, but insufficiently for a bonus point! Looking foward to episode 10. -Andiyar

The fighting scene between assasin and saber was just great, i found it really smooth and flowing especially assasin's moves, and his noble phantasam looks great the blurring of the swords,
Rider was great to ,very agile, caster didnt do much, looks like she has an upgraded version of Rin's Laser finger, =D The fight scenes where not dragged out and contrived, good length with good movements, Looks like we where given a bit of depth into the way Shirou thinks, and i like this idea of some of the epsiode been given to explaintion, the game has such a thick and involving storyline (as i have heard from many people that play the game) that the anime will have a tough time getting it across. The BGM music was great too, perfect and did we hear a new BGM track? I gave this episode a 10! We see more archer next week, the pr0 class is back! =D naked saber AND Ilya being all nice yet evil I hope Issei gets thrown into the mix too, great guy! |
