Just finished reading Flere821 's translation and summary of the Alicization web novel version and it's AMAZING!! I bow down before the great Kawahara-sama

I really thought that the Chapter 8 is the last one because it had the feeling of a story coming to an end... Oh well either way it's great!!

Maybe it is right after the events at the end of volume 12:
"The sight of the black-clothed swordsman and the golden knight entangling with each other and getting hurled out of the tower burnt itself into Eugeo’s eyes."

Also at the Dengeki Bunko description, link above the image, there is this:
しかし、キリトとアリスの《武装完全支配術》が暴走して塔の外壁を破壊、二人はカセドラルの外へと投げ出されてしまう。

It says after breaking the outer wall Alice and Kirito were thrown out outside the cathedral.

Maybe that's the reason Alice has this look on her face.

Just to make sure... Alice's sword is a rip-off of byakuya's Senbonzakura (bleach) right? -_-
So... Vol.13 ... Eugeo will die in this volume? and then asuna n alice will replace his position as kirito's harem faction in vol.14
Sigh, so sad... Eugeo is my favorite character... He is just like succesful version of klein, klein have potential to be kirito's partner but.... Sigh...

I'm sure that occurred to everyone in this thread, but whereas Senbonzakura cuts, Alice's packs a whallop instead. So I wouldn't really call it a ripoff.

If you see it that way, it's way more overpowering than Senbonzakura.

But I think Senbonzakura wins in terms of quantity and iof you use the anime as reference, it was capable of destroying large structures through force and numbers instead of just cutting.

As you said Senbonzakura destroys structures from its massive amount of little blades. However, the destruction itself is the result of simultaneous cuts from the blade not from the impact, whereas Alice's Release Recollection strenghten the basic toughness of the little blades. Comparing those two is like comparing a brick wall to a wave, the wave can drag the wall with it but it can't destroy the brick wall. Also I think Alice's weapon wins speed-wise to Senbonzakura eventhough it's only by a little margin.
