Thanks jpwong,
I found that in my case that didnt seem to happen. Last night I managed to get the downloads moving again by increasing the unity size to 45GB. After that, downloads that had been stuck at b elow 10% complete for days finished in a matter of minutes. |

Hey, I'm back. I'm having the "open port not confirmed" error, and I'm corrected directly to an ethernet port in the wall. There's no router to forward ports on, so how do I deal with this?
Edit: based on my previous experiences with bittorrent, maybe it will work if I encrypt my data? (I'm on a University campus which hates P2P). How do I find out which port to encrypt? |

I don't think PD supports any kind of protocol encryption, the same way BitTorrent does. All data exchange is encrypted, but I'm not sure if the protocol is.
The port used by PD can be configured inside the program, it selects a random one when you install it. The most important thing is that you get a publicly routable IP address, without a firewall/router that blocks incoming connections in front of it. PD simply can't work if others can't connect directly to you. (Note that the campus does have a router between you and the rest of the internet, that's how the internet works. They most likely block most or all kinds of incoming connections and you won't be able to do anything about it.)

Woman Arrested for Uploading Anime via Perfect Dark:
"The Nikkan Sports and Nihon Keizai Shimbun newspapers report that Japanese police have arrested a 42-year-old unemployed woman named Tomoko Sasaki on Friday for allegedly uploading anime online, without the copyright holders' permission, using the Perfect Dark file-sharing software." Has anyone else had problems with Perfect Dark running on Windows 7 x64?
My computer will be fine for a long time, then I open PD and start downloading something with it, and my computer BSOD's. Any others with this same problem, or does anyone have any ideas to fix it? |

The unity and download folders were pre-determined, so that's not the problem.
I was adding it to "Add IP address/port", which was one problem. The other was that I didn't open a port either. Also, I didn't have the nodes, since the site that originally hosted the page with all the nodes was taken down, so I found this page instead, which has a good amount of nodes. Iam still having the problem that my download dont "convert to file", each time i try i get a "download error code -2"
Perfect Dark is running on a MacOS with wine and XQuarts 2.6.0. It doesnt change anything if I start PD with LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 oder LANG=en_US.UTF-8 In some parts of PD the Characters are just shown as squares, also when i call LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 wine winecfg which might be the reason. Any ideas how I could fix it?? :-/ |

Hi,
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...g?t=1293973462 Opened the port but I still get "perfect dark is offline". unity number is stuck at 9 / 524288 The rest of the numbers are all 0. What do? I have not added any ip's, I have found two links to node ip's at page 15 of this thread, but both links are down. ~Zuidd |

Has anyone ever come across this problem:
I copied my unity folder from an old hard drive to a fresh install, but now I get the "perfect dark has started downloading unity (cache) automatically..." message every time I start PD, even though my unity is 40GB. I think that message is supposed to go away after you hit 2GB right? |
