Dantalian no Shoka (Dantalian's Bookshelves) (ダンタリアンの書架) is a light novel series written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by G-Yuusuke. The series consists of short stories, so every chapter is stand-alone and contains a closed story. The chapters can be read in any order.

When he inspects the mansion, Huey discovers a cellar that is filled with piles of books. In the middle of these books he comes across a black-dressed girl who is silently reading a book. She is called Dalian and has a big lock hanging before her. She herself is the gateway to the "Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian", which contains the prohibited "Phantom Books".

I realize that the novel series is complete with eight volumes but I find this series very good. Not going to lie, the anime first got me into this.

I was somewhat surprised to see that there was no thread for this to begin with.

Does it do harm to discuss it at the least? I would think after the anime had ended that people would be looking to get into the series and ask for spoilers and the like. You or perhaps someone else would probably look into it if people requested.

Personally, I want to know that how many girls like Danlian there are throughout the whole story.

Pretty much. There are some reappearing characters, though. Like Jessica, the Phantom Book Burglar (if I remember correctly), etc.

Then again, IMO it's not a good story that makes Dantalian no Shoka, but a nice atmosphere and likable characters. And above all, G-Yuusuke's art.
It was always fun to immerse myself in the world of DnS every time a new volume came out.

Also, I have to say I felt that the violence dropped a little in the later volumes in favor of somewhat lighter stories. :/ Perhaps that's just me, though.

I liked the anime of this quite a bit, and the novel is quite good as well, so a thread is a good idea.

@Endscape There isn't one??? Holy, I always thought there is since the series in 2-cour.
