LOL, Mari is awesome. I mean..that yandere face.

They should a flashback episode about her soon. On another note, Natsuki got closer to Anna? I still find him to be a bit dull compared to the other characters so far.

Getting somewhere..
Kobayakawa seems nice, but so does Natsuki.
It was fun watching Mattsun freak at Tsutsui.
And the other way around.. LOL
Fun episode ^^

I think I'm going to like the Mattsun/Mari pairing at least as much as the main one, if not more. It certainly didn't look to me in the last scene like she was all THAT opposed to such a concept, more like she was shocked at what he'd done than unhappy about it. She's fixated on Anna because she's the only one not to give her the cold shoulder from the start, but I get the feeling if he can convince her that he really does like being around her, and maybe lay off on the flirting, it wouldn't take all that much to get her to open up at least a little bit. She may be good at making Yandere glares, but really she feels like a tsundere whose tsun got turned a little too high and wound up pushing people away until she realized she was all alone. And Mattsun seems so completely shocked by his actions too, like he sees a cuteness in her that he's never seen in a girl before. Definite potential for real entertaining interactions. I'd stick to this show just for that.

This show is the most adorable thing ever. It doesn't really stand out in any aspect but it's literally the definition of cute.

And Mari kind of ruined this episode for me. Good thing there was the seiyuu episode.

Be quiet, Mari's adorable. Yes, she's harsh, but crack that protective shell she's built and you find a sweet little girl who I can't help but love. Maybe I just have a thing for the insecure characters, but I loved her the moment she went from Yan to Tsun.

Have fun with that, I'd sooner throw her down a human size garbage disposal, and be done with the whole mess. Not worth my time. I tend to like characters who aren't downright hostile for pretty much no reason. So, yeah you can have Mari and I'll take Anna.

No reason? it's made pretty clear by the end of the episode that she's got personal issues going on that have made it hard for her to get along with people, and she opened hostilities because she was afraid for her one true friend. And then Mattsun sort of confirmed that she had reason to worry by spouting a stupid and arrogant pickup line at her. If you're an awkward type who can't make friends and the only person to accept you is surrounded by a bunch of strangers you don't trust, you're going to be hostile. And like I said, by the end of the episode a crack or two have appeared in her hostile shell, revealing the vulnerability and loneliness that lies at the heart of her prickly attitude.

I find it pretty funny that teacher's seiyuu, Shouta Ebina, is the youngest member of the cast here (born in 1994).

As for Mari - yeah, I really disliked her. Sorry, but I found no redeeming qualities about her whatsoever.

And that's like the epitome of no reason. Leave you're personal issues at home. As far as we can tell from the show these guys have done absolutely nothing towards her before this encounter. If you or I acted like this towards people we just meet they'd have good reason to wonder what the heck was wrong with us. We all have personal issues, doesn't mean that gives us a pass to treat people like crap. And she herself seems to realize that the reason why she only has one true friend is because she treats people like crap. Well, no surprise there. And honestly, the thing that really got me was the whole chocolate situation. I've seen five year olds behave better then her. And the fact that the show makes it feel like I'm supposed to pity her a bit did not go over well with me at all.

I remember Mari being more tsundereish in the manga than bitchy here... but I've read it some time ago so I could be mistaken. At least you can be sure that she's going to have character development.

Even so, the show seems pretty rushed to me. This would have worked much better as a full episode but...

We don't know what her "issues" are. What we do know is that Anna is incredibly important to her. I've seen no evidence that she normally treats people, male or female, like this, but you combine a distrust of people with the sight of someone precious to you being surrounded by such "untrustworthy" individuals and you're going to get some hostility. I'm not denying that she went overboard, but it seemed more like a panicked overprotective response than true hatred. And Mattsun didn't help things by immediately hitting on her. And then when she's already worried that these untrustworthy people are going to steal Anna from her she sees the MC preparing to approach her in a possibly romantic way, I'm sure she was panicking. I'm not saying she's justified in her actions, only that she seemed to certainly have reason from her standing; she even seemed to recognize at the end that what she was doing wasn't right, she was just that desperate to keep the only person who'd given her a chance.

Additionally, I seriously hope we get some flashbacks to see how/why she wound up with no one else. I rather doubt she was just mean without reason, because the sort of mean she shows and apparently has long shown isn't the sort I've ever heard of anyone showing without something going on, even if it's something completely unrelated. Understanding what sort of experiences made her start to act cold toward others and how that snowballed until she had no one might make her look better (or admittedly worse). Either way, I most certainly can't hate someone for having scars so deep that they can't keep it in. There's plenty of jerks out there who are jerks just because they're jerks, but if they're able to cry and get upset over their situation and what they've done and what led them to do it, then I for one feel there's definitely hope.

It's the otaku that has the steady girlfriend while the rest don't. Subverting the trope that otaku don't get anywhere far with girls.

OK, Kei chan just became my new best friend. xD It's nice that his friends get his personality and even tried to cheer him up when they thought he'd become an S. It's also nice that he's open and honest about what he likes and didn't just try to wing it with that girl. Hopefully Kei chan finds himself a nice girlfriend who's also an M. Also that nice whip action. lol

Anna and Natsuki continue to be really great together, and Tsuyoshi and his girlfriend are so adorable together. There exchange at the school gate was really cute.

Hmm, 4th episode didn't have the last girl, so I quickly skimmed the manga. Seems no childhood friend girlfriend. Guess I'll drop this. :'(

Well... consistency is a good thing much of the time. XD

****

In any event, I enjoyed episode four of this one - I continue to enjoy the interactions of the characters with one another, though I was kind of glad that the young lady who confessed to Kei was immediately informed of what she might really be getting into. I imagine many might beat a hasty retreat!

Still, Kei's ... err ... hobbies aside, it was heartwarming to see so many people concerned about him.

So this is turning up to the be one of my favorite shows of the season. I still stand by my last statement: the show is so damn adorable. Natsuki's character + Matsuoka-kun make for a killer moe boy combo. His blushing kills me every time :')

It's a pity this show is a short one. It seems like so little happens in each episode... this week for example all the beach episode seemed rushed to me, and it doesn't display much development either... as a manga reader I'm getting a bit dissapointed with the show
