Chrom Jarrett the youngest 21 year old officially appointed of the seven strategist "saints"and a master of a double sword technique.His origin is unknown.
Five years ago, another saint had save an empire (Rigia empire) from its own destruction and chaos but the peace it achieved was only fleeting.Dissension and strife began to spread to its neighbouring empire Glaustandia (Glaustandear).Several territories and subkingdoms within the empire began to plot against the established empire/s for more power and expansions.Glaustandia weak government desperate measures for negotiations and truce is but a futile endevour.War is eminent.To make things worse, the current emperor have just died and the interim government purposely place a naive 16 year old inexperienced princess as a heir to the crown with the intend to diffuse the nobles power struggle for the throne.
Chrom jarrett was seen as a savior that could help save the empire and he purposely created and opportunity for himself to be appointed as an advisor, strategist and a protector to the princess and the empire.He was not interested to take the crown for himself.What he seek is not power but peace.He's main objective now is to stabilize the empire before the princess become the queen.

Interesting concept- sounds a bit like Game of Thrones, but in an 18th century (given the protagonist is shown with a musket on the first cover)- level fantasy world.

Or, given the pseudo-harem elements, perhaps a darker and edgier version of Madan no Ou to Vanadis with a slight boost of the technology level. The protagonist even looks a bit like Tigrevurmud Vorn from Vanadis.

I am intrigued by the premise, is anyone translating this?

i think the MC closes his heart for romantic love.He's not cold though.His relationship with the girls is like a sibling...some of the girls do have feelings for him.

The illustrations looks is misleading.The weapon technology i think is more of the 15/16th century than the 18th century.They do have cannons and firearms but its basic and limited..They fight more with the swords..and yes and that musket looking thing is a sword.
