Aw man, the drama came in so fast! Looks like the good ol' school is in danger of shutting down! Time to save it!
The first episode felt so in your face and fast, and man, did I love it. It feel absolutely fantastic having love live back. I missed them all! I internally squealed when Kanan swept Mari off her feet. Mari must be very light, or Kanan is buff af. :P |

Chika, skirts don't work the way you think. You and Riko are witnesses to that.
I had my doubts before, but this turned out to be a great beginning for the return of Sunshine. Sure, there was lots of drama, but I think it was handled really well, and it showed one of my favorite parts of the series: Chika facing a tough situation and showing her most human side. Of course, this also includes seeing Riko (and everyone else, really, but mainly Riko) show her full support and understanding. I wonder if there'll be some comparisons with Honoka again, considering how big the wall is this time. Superpowers ciuld probably help at a time lile this. On the nicer side, seeing Kanan reaffirm herself as Mari's prince was sweet and such a show of progress since s1, and of course, plenty of Yohane is really nice too (speaking of, did they just throw a bone to THAT ship? That's cute). To summarize, things are rough and the destination is unknown, bur Aqours ain't giving up yet, and their journey will surely be one worth checking out. Now to hope for some character focused goodness. ...did Honoka ever get as many leg shots as Chika did this episode? |

Honestly, I'm more surprised that this episode is getting more and more meme-fied each day, from Riko-Beam, to Gravity-Defying-Skirt Chika, to Ruby seemingly always ready to punch someone in the face with an uppercut. But, I kinda have a feeling the school situation won't go Chika's way. The massive issue here is, frankly, that the school is practically in the middle of nowhere. With the OG School, there are lots of ways for them to bounce back, with their location being only a few ways to Akiba, so the logical destination was plausible. But Uranohoshi? Nah. But I'm still more surprised that the school intends to shut down. They honestly have more students that many Japanese rural schools nowadays. I mean, I could understand them shutting down over 0 applications, but 10? It only takes just 5 more for the school to still legit have a reason to live. Watched episode 1:
Ah, one of the most cosplayed anime in our local community is back! Nice seeing Chika and everyone again. Yohane looks like her mom, and Zura push up is funny. Looks like the danger of getting closed down is very real for the school now... I wonder how they will get out of this one. Or perhaps just accept the fact that they will combine with another school? 9/10 for first ep.

Finally watched it... not great, but not bad either. I don't know why but they just don't make me feel like other characters do
What I really wonder is if they will be brave enough to make Kanan/Mari at least more or less canon... (yeah, right) At least the animation is good |
