Yeah, I figured it was fake when I first saw it because Pixiv artists aren't going to put magazine scans (scans with absolutely no scanner noise, at that) in their own artwork folder.

It's still fairly good-quality, though. Not as good-quality as an official Newtype layout would be, but close enough for first glance.

Well, if you've skipped Legos, Zoids, action figures and other toys in your childhood, part of the capability to appreciate Figma would not be there.

Figma is win because it has extreme posability, mix and match, customisation features that provide endless amounts of win.

Much like how mecha fans love their Gunpla and Chokogin, Figma gives figure collectors the same form of enjoyment.

It was an odd side project the Lucky Star fans were doing for a bit similar in spirit to the genderbending of haruhi where they were doing the "Real Otaku Konata" thing. I dunno how far it went but apparently it went far enough to warrant an appearance in that mock article.

I've seen plenty of recolored cels of Konata (and some of the rest of the cast) done to look more Japanese in hair color. However this version of Konata with dark hair, glasses, not not generally smiling, seems to be the most prevalent, ans most of her scenes (alone) have been redone with this character model.

I'm lazy but I'll just do a couple:

Toki wo Tomeru Shoujo (literally the girl who stopped time and famous pun) - Suzumiya Haruhi.
Joushikiteki ni kangaete (thinking with common sense) - Kyonko
Undou onchi de satsujin oni (Frail tone deaf murdererous demon) - Kuro Kona-san
Sutando wa iyashi kei? (Her Stand is soothing type? (very hard to explain this)) - Hiragii Kagami

In this series of fake magazine scans of a fake anime -> Kuro Kona-san wa Neko ga Suki, Kuro Kona-san Loves Cats, is a match up of 'Stands'. The characters are 'Stand users', Stand refers to their stand, their character types. Example from Kagami is her stand is she is a 'iyashi-kei', usually used to describe a type of idol who's appearance and manners soothes or calms her fans/worshippers, which of course Kagami doesn't seem like lol

Kuro Kona-san, literally Black Kona-san, is a totally reversed Konata, an otaku gone down the dark path. She exhibits all the worse qualities of a bad otaku, socially inept, can't do sports, frail, tone deaf, depressed, negative. And it seems she's also the type of otaku who become murderers lol

Sunrise punned the title and created the wonderful Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo.
Toki wo Tomeru Shoujo refers back to the original though.

Iyashi-kei idols are mainly those beautiful angellic ladies, whom once you lay you eyes upon them, you feel like you gained a new life.

Otaku, Akihabara killings has been around for so long, I'm worried that I'll never be able to visit Akiba anymore in the future.
