There was a whole bunch of impossible to translate jokes in this episode:

For those curious about details:

Lord En's "jokes":

1. Bouzu ga futari to... Oshou ga 2
(I sort of explained this inline, but rewriting wasn't an option given the context)

Bouzu = monk, so the first part means "when you have 2 monks".
Oshou = Head buddhist priest, so the second part means "you have 2 buddhist priests"

But Oshougatsu also means "New Year's".

2. Osechi wa iikedo, Karei mo ne!

As I mentioned inline, this is a quote from a famous TV commercial in the 1970s:

made famous I think by featuring "Candies", a popular idol trio from the 1970s.

I thought for a while about changing it to "get mikey to eat it" or something, but it was too far afield from the animation, so I did a literal translation instead.

3. Atto odoroku tamegoro~

This one I decided to translate as another laugh-in reference, "Verry interestink, but shtupid!" which you may recognize as German Soldier Wolfgang's nonsense line interspersed between sketches.

The original Japanese line is from the 1970 show "Gyosen x Maetake's Gebageba 90 Minutes" which was a sketch comedy/variety show.
The line was a nonsense line that was used as a transition between sketches and (at least according to wikipedia) was inspired by Laugh-in's line.
Hence, my translation. A literally translation would be "And Tamegoro is surprised just like that!"

4. The karuta poems:
The karuta poems are all fake, but sound "kind of like karuta" poems... At least they don't seem particularly close to any of the hyakku isshu that I can find.
My translations for these are fairly literal.

She's supposed to be that girl, I think. They changed the color of her hair for some reason.

hmmm a question to those who read the manga..i dont read the manga...but i think its currently at chapter 136...anime now is 49...

so...atm..what chapter according to the manga ..is the anime at now?

Super Milk Time was chapter 108.

So there's about ~28 chapters left. Which is 10-12 episodes worth of material, depending the pace.

No, I'm saying as of right now. Since you get a new chapter every week or so it'll actually be more like 38 chapters by the time you catch up.
But in practice it doesn't work like that since the actual storyboarding and such takes place 1-3 months before airing anyway.

Basically, "there's 10-12 episodes worth of material that could be based off manga" that could air.

ok.thx...well.in your opinion...is the manga ending anytime soon?or somewhere in the middle or only the beginining?.i was wondering how much episode will the anime go up to?...100?-200?

The way the manga is going, it's gonna last for a long time. I don't think it'll end anytime soon.

Happy 50th ep!

Lol when Baby Beel tried to take off Oga's pants. Figures the first time he would wear clothes was when he switched with Oga. Didn't think the rematch between Aoi and Hilda would be over that.

Nobody said it would be only 50 episodes.
It's just a usual scheme - 50 episodes run, watch for ratings - more episodes or canceling. So nobody can tell certain number of episodes.

Me too. I can't fathom why they keep cutting scenes out of the manga when they are so damn close to catching up to it.

This slight disappointment aside, I found the episode absolutely hilarious. I'm glad they had Miyuki voice Oga in Beel's body. She did a terrific job.

Aoi and Hilda's catfight was highly amusing. I'm pretty sure that's the first we've seen Hilda act so silly.

Aoi finally win against Hilda, and funny that the first thing Baby Beel do is to get naked

cant believe i have watched 50 eps of this average only show, i guess i do like it after all
