I guess this is what happens when you do too much "Lucy
in the Sky with Diamonds".

Paul McCartney talks of seeing God during psychedelic trip:

"Former Beatle Paul McCartney has told a British newspaper he believes he once saw
God during a psychedelic trip.

The 76-year-old star told The Sunday Times he was “humbled” by the experience."

John Allen Chau: Family forgive tribe who killed American

The man was either naive, a fool or just arrogant for trying to contact a xenophobic and dangerous tribe that the India government repeatedly warns people to stay away from their island, all because he try to convert them to his religion.

The chances of that happening are very slim.

Either way the man didn't deserve to die but I can't bring myself to feel pity for him. I'm not exactly sure what is there to forgive either.

Batshit Iranian Regime Wants Their People To Think They
Invented The Space Shuttle:

"The Iranian government has an incredible appetite for putting forward hyperbolic
technological claims and has little shame about backing them up those with outright
laughable proof. It's one thing to claim that a 'new' indigenously produced fighter
aircraft that is at best a clone of a 50-year-old design is equivalent to America's front-
line fighters or even making the erroneous proclamation that Iranian industry has
reproduced an equivalent of the RQ-170 unmanned flying wing stealth drone that fell
into their hands in 2011, but making it seem like Iranian scientists developed the
freakin' Space Shuttle is a whole other level of bozo behavior.

This is exactly what the Iranian government, and the fanatical Islamic Revolutionary
Guard Corps, in particular, is directly implying in a huge graphic that is currently
displayed in Tehran's Valiasr Square. The billboard is running in conjunction with the
40th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution that saw the ousting of close American ally
Mohammad Reza Shah and the installation of a hardline theocratic government under
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Talk about cultural appropriation!"

In France, the Force is strong with lightsaber dueling:

"Master Yoda, dust off his French, he must.

It’s now easier than ever in France to act out “Star Wars” fantasies, because its
fencing federation has borrowed from a galaxy far, far away and officially recognized
lightsaber dueling as a competitive sport, granting the iconic weapon from George
Lucas’ saga the same status as the foil, epee and sabre, the traditional blades used
at the Olympics.

Of course, the LED-lit, rigid polycarbonate lightsaber replicas can’t slice a Sith lord in
half. But they look and, with the more expensive sabers equipped with a chip in their
hilt that emits a throaty electric rumble, even sound remarkably like the silver screen
blades that Yoda and other characters wield in the blockbuster movies."

The ones I have from Ultrasabers hold up pretty well. They can take quite a beating. The ones with sounds or fancy lighting controllers can be expensive, but just a basic one with a polycarbonate blade and LED only cost something like $55 - $70 USD. Ones with sound? Well those start getting into the $200 USD plus range (there are cheaper options, like the Obsidian Lite sound card, but personally, not only do I like the idea of having multiple sounds for my saber, I will pay slightly extra to have a "mute" feature. So I can turn the sound off when I want it off, but still want the LED to be on). With the fancy lighting controller (able to change the color of the blade via computer or on the hilt) that's the $300 to $500 USD plus range. Depending in the base price of the hilt. Some hilts are fancier than others.

Revenge is a dish best served by chickens.

Chickens 'teamed up to kill fox' at Brittany farming school:

"Chickens in a poultry farm in northwest France are suspected of killing a fox that
tried to sneak into their coop.

The fox is thought to have entered the henhouse at an agricultural school at dusk last
week and become trapped inside by light-controlled automatic hatch doors that close
when the sun goes down.

Students at Le Gros Chêne school in Brittany discovered the fox’s body the following
morning when making their rounds to check on the chickens.

“There, in the corner, we found this dead fox,” Pascal Daniel, the head of farming at
the school, told AFP. “There was a herd instinct and they attacked him with their
beaks.”"

Russian Military Journal Claims Psychic Soldiers Can
Crash Computers and Control Dolphins:

"A journal published by Russia’s Ministry of Defense became the subject of mockery this
week after publishing claims that “Russian specialists” have communicated with dolphins,
crashed computer programs, and even looked into safes using the power of telepathy.

As first highlighted by Russian media outlet RBC, the February issue of Army Collection
featured a story titled “The Super-Soldier of Future Wars.” In it, reserve colonel Nikolai
Poroskov detailed a variety of bizarre abilities related to “parapsychology,” a science once
used by “Babylonian priests.”

According to Poroskov, Russian special forces in Chechnya employed these
parapsychological techniques, which he elsewhere compared to “superpowers.”"

‘Dear Fucking God:’ The ‘Alexandria Library’ of Hentai Has
Suddenly Vanished:

"The admin of two of the internet's largest hentai repositories announced Friday that
they're considering shutting down operations, and potentially taking 50 terabytes of
anime and hentai down with it.

One of the sites, known as Sad Panda, or exhentai, is already gone. The other, e-hentai,
is still online. Both hosted original artwork and English translations of Japanese art and
comics—some that didn't exist anywhere else—for more than 10 years.

Overnight, data hoarders and hentai enthusiasts scrambled to archive Sad Panda, with
only a few hours' notice."

Science Goes Too Far, Creates AI That Turns You Into an
Anime Character:

"We live in an age of miracles and horrors. Artificial intelligence now has the power to
create fake videos of people doing and saying things they’d never say or do, simulate
the ravages of age, and transform you into a classical work of art.

Now, thanks to researchers at video game company NCSoft, AI can convincingly
transform you into an anime character.

The program uses a popular machine learning architecture called Generative
Adversarial Networks (GANs). GANs “learn” from a vast amount of training inputs,
such as images of human and anime faces, to create new samples.

The AI-anime-convertor is the brainchild of Junho Kim, Minjae Kim, Hyeonwoo Kang,
and Kwanghee Lee, researchers working for the video game company NCSoft, the
publishers of Guild Wars 2. The NCSoft team released the code on github and
published its research online."
