I will be rooting for Holland.
But looking as Robben not making it into South Africa, i wonder who'll be his replacement.

Hmm... If there's one thing Holland never had a shortage of, then it's a high number of excellent players. Their main issue will be how they'll function as a TEAM, when the going gets tough.

By the way, is there any kind of desktop software around that emulates the league tables of all the groups that are playing including:
The date
time
who vs who
and final score?

Kinda wanna keep track of it online somehow so was curious if anyone knew of any program that's floating about in cyberspace

Emulating as in predicting scores? I don't know about that but I'm using BBC Sport to keep track.

Not predicting, merely updating the scores when matches are done.

Kinda based off here
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...es_and_results

You can now download the World Cup fixtures to your calendar if you use Outlook, Google Calendar or iCal.

Just use the link provided below to add the entire competition match dates, times and UK broadcast details to your calendar - in just three easy steps :

1. Click on the link

2. Save the .ics file to your desktop - "Save" (Internet Explorer) or "Save to disc" (Firefox)

3. Use the import function within your calendar application to import this calendar file.
I guess something like this from BBC, but the bastards are anti-social x.x;;

So anything for the desktop regarding fixtures and results as well would be good. Usually newspapers have print outs for pple to use at work (when we're running bets) of the entire fixtures and we manually write in the results, but not being in London for the first time, the... atmosphere is kinda lacking in Japan ;_;
(Since its baseball that they mainly go crazy for) *sighs*

This saturday
ENG v USA
19:30

- Matter of national pride this.
Even if it's only the English team, methinks the entire UK will be behind it.
Now to figure out if thats UK time or SA time and what that means for Tokyo :\

The BBC have put up both a score tracker and a predictor. The tracker is quite empty at the moment though, seeing as no matches have been played .

That should be UK time, as I heard it (the time) being mentioned on the radio whilst I was driving home yesterday.

Looks like we'll be enemies on that day then I'll be rooting for the USA not only because I'm part American (just this once), but also because I have faith in them considering they played brilliantly in the last world-cup and broke Spain's longest win streak a few years later. I'm pretty sure they'll have some surprises up their sleeves. The UK has been one of the leading European teams, so it would be nice for the underdogs to have the first taste of victory in this instance.

true that has always been the problem. What is typical is that they first win matches but the victory gets to their head and they quit playing as a team and lose, that is what happened last Euro championships.. and the world hampionship before that against Portugal... that match is still giving me headaches, it wasn't even football but who can get the most yellow/red cards

Teams I root for: Holland (obviously XD ), England and Brasil. I don't mind Spain or Germany either though.. I don't like Portugal though...

Gave one of these to my good friend =) these Pletterpet's are awesome XD

Only two days left and I planned to go shopping today for some steamboat(the food, not a vehicle) beers and sodas(for younger viewers). I'm going to throw a party in the South Africa vs Mexico and France vs Uruguay.

While most people are rooting for England vs USA but I think France vs Uruguay match will be better as is both teams met in 2002 but ends up with draw game without scoring goals. I hope both teams will do much better than in 2002 match. I have 60% that France may win against Uruguay but Urugay is not a weak team either. So does Mexico. It just kinda odd when the home team is considered as the weakest in its group as they has to face France, Mexico and Uruguay.

I have strong possibility that Portugal may not survive the group stage unless they beat Ivory Coast and North Korea.

I think Spain will take it this year, almost all of their players are from Barca so they have a lot more experience working together as a team than the rest of the teams have. (Plus Barca is crazy good)

I wouldn't say Poland had a good chance to begin with =P
They aren't exactly on the same level, would be nice to have Holland vs Spain though XD

So far Holland and Spain is the most impresive teams in recent months. They successfully show a great football.
But this is the curse of Holland and Spain.
The best team on pleminary and friendly are usually Holland and Spain.
But when it comes to real tournament Holland and Spain usually lose to other teams.

Spain recently broke the curse by winning EuroCup two years ago.

Holland... Never broke the curse.

I go for Spain as well, mainly because i like Liverpool

England vs US match? Hmmm, i don't know which one to support....
Maybe England. But then if US do well in WC, maybe the States will care more about soccer. Just like here, around 5 years ago, World Cup was as highly participated as world badminton championship (is there one?)... but now it's crazy here

I'll cheer for my country, Argentina. I'm totally sure that we'll survive and get the first place at group B, but after that I'm not sure if Argentina is going to win, after all Maradona is the coach. I think it doesn't matter if we have players like Messi, Tevez, Agüero, Higuain, Milito and Di Maria, Maradona totally sucks as coach and that has been shown in matches like Argentina - Brazil (1-3), Argentina - Peru (2-1 second goal at 47' minutes of second time), Argentina - Bolivia (1-6 EPIC match).
The point is... I hate Maradona as coach, and almost the whole country does xD

Maxi Rodríguez and Javier Mascherano also....

But put some trust into your coach lol
How can the players try their best if they know they won't be blamed for losing
