Question curious

I just finished watching the series, and I"d like some views on what you guys think about the story.

I know there really isn't too much story content, but I do have some questions ^_^

Spoiler:

btw, how do I make those cool clickable spoiler buttons like some of you other posters? =)

Answer by xris [ spoiler ] text [ /spoiler ] but without the spaces (use the edit button to see what this post with a spoiler tag looks like).

Two issues I want to ask about Baku-Ten:

1. Is Baku-Ten adapted from the manga of the same name? or did the anime came first shortly before the manga did so?
(IMO, I like the illustrations and art for the manga)

2. Since Baku-Ten has been licensed by FUNimation for awhile, is there gonna be a chance that it ends being aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block?

Burst Angel -- Baku Ten (Bakuretsu Tenshi)

I've been looking at Burst Angel for a while now, and can't decide if I should get it or not.

What's it about? (already read some info on many anime sites, didn't help much)

Is it safe to watch around family? (does it have -BAD- language? sex? nudity?)

In my opinion It's not bad..
It's got a lot of mecha, gun fights, some humor (probably about pg - pg13), and alot of gratuitous fan service. Maybe some language, but no sex (that I've seen) or complete nudity. You see a bit of T&A though, Meg's got a couple of big ta-tas.
I've only seen the first and second disk, so I can't tell you much about it. I haven't seen enough of it
It's rated TV14...here's a brief synopsis from the back of the DVD:

"A new law has been passed in Tokyo... Ordinary people are now allowed to freely carry firearms. Crime has turned citizens against each other in a fight for survival on the city's mean streets. Thanks to the Recent Armed Police of Tokyo (RAPT), the arrest rate is going down. After all, the only prison a dead man needs is a whole in the ground. RAPT is taking away jurisdiction from local authorities quicker than they can draw their guns. In these dark times, an angel arrives on Earth. No one is sure if she came from up above or down below, but with her partners Sei, Amy and Meg, Jo's the best chance this town's got."

Hope that was helpful!

Chicks with Big Boobs and Mecha. It's Noir meets Cowboy Bebop. There's the Big Boob Meg, The no Boob Jo, the Hardly Dressed Sae, and the Loli hacker (I don't remember the name).

2 Guys one of which is totally useless.

Gonzo does a great job with Jango (The Mecha).

The Loli Hacker is Amy.

One of the guy is Leo who designed Jango, and the useless guy, Kouhei, is the best cook that the four supergirls are able to afford.

On a note, Latin America Animax is soon going to be transmitting Burst Angel.

He posted a pretty good explanation though I have no idea how Meg got so cool. She was such a waste of time.

Is it true that there's an OVA coming out? Hope it'll explain the ending a little more.

Read the date of that supposed OVA rumor and you will realize it is just a rumor.

Lets see, they made Mai Otome in about 6 months (26 Episodes) and it's been 2 years and no new hints of a Burst Angel OVA?

I would call that a rumor.

Hello @ all,

I'm new here so please don't kill me!
I only know there is a OVA still in work because I have read an Interview with Koichi Ohata the Director of Burst Angel which was made in September 2005!
He said that he is working on 3 Projects at the same time one of them is a Burst Angel OVA He said that it could be released in first part of 2006 (Interview in German!)!
And I have seen an Interview with Ugetsu Hakua the Charakter Designer of Burst Angel who said that the series was so popular that a second series will be released as an OVA!
And then get a look on the Funimation Burst Angel page under the part DVD you will find a button with the text "OVA" and when you hit the button you will see the text "Coming soon"!
What the end of the Show belong I think you should look at the last part of the Intro and you will find something at the end!

P.S. Sorry for my bad English but I'm from germany so please don't kill me!

Let's see, there were several official sources announcing it, so its clearly not a rumor
now whether it'll ever see the light of day is a different matter. last i heard, the official statement was BGC 2041 was still in the works, but we see the results of that, or lack of results, whatever.
but that aside, the point is there's a slight difference between a rumor and a (possibly) cancelled project.

o.o Even the last DVD from Funimation has the little advertisement insert... It seems to be a prequal, as it says something like 'every story has a beginning'. It also says 'Coming 2006', although there are no specific dates. I am unsure if it has been released yet in Japan.

The manga is a three-volume prequal, and has been licensed by Del Rey, I believe the first volume is being released in November here in the USA. It was never scanlated.

I'd love to be able to say more from that insert, but my copy of the 6th DVD is currently at my friend's house, as she borrowed it so she could finish the series. However, Jo had long hair, and (I believe it was) meg's hair was black. It could easily be an AU, however, as even from the flashback, I believe Meg's hair was at least brown, and just looked darker because of the fade effect on everything but the eyes.

So, I'd love to see a conclusion (even slightly more in-detail, like Kiddy Grade was, a wrap-up episode), but I doubt it's going to happen.
