So far it follows the same plotline without much difference, but the approach is slightly different. For example, the awesome action scene in the beginning is absent in the manga, who instead spend a bit more time introducing more of Kio's family (which to be fair may be done in the second episode). Ah, one more noticeable thing, perhaps due to the medium is that the gender of Jack is kept ambiguous at first in the manga (in fact, judging from the name may be thought of as male) by having Manami contacting her only through internet without showing her face.

Wow, that sounds a lot like Dai Maou, where the manga seems to have taken a different turn, with the anime following that up with something different

ok so only having seen the raw for ep 2 all I can say is this is gotta be one of the oddest anime I ever saw. Not in the ridiculous/outrageous oddness like say Futakoi Alternative but the fact this is set in a relatively real world with daily slice of life going just with aliens, kid spy, super spys, teacher terrorist and cool mysterious old geezers thrown into the mix.

anyway moving on, I loved the Metal gear Solid reference but then who wouldn't love that particular ref

As odd as it may seem to me I just can't help but totally love it. Def the sleeper hit for me this season.

on a side note there is so much awesome gun porn anime this season, theres this, Black Lagoon, Cat Shit One, and possibly Highschool of the Dead BANZAI!

Ok it's seems to be too much chance that both his teacher and childhood friend have been spying on him and the one from across the street. It is more like they been monitoring him.. but why? Maybe something about his parents? And except for the black haired girl his childhood friend and teacher seem to have no problem with betraying him.. so not really a friend more of spy that has been monitoring him for a long time and now something interesting is happening. Only the black haired girl who probably is an alien is upset that she has to target him.

The spy girl betrays the guy because she is a SPY. Betrayal is in the job requirement. It would be hypocritical otherwise.
And the teacher is just a teacher. She doesn't have any real friendship with him to begin with. Momiji is the only one who genuinely liked him.

Wow Kio discovers who his friends are... and how they betrayed him. Manami wasted some pens while spying on the two. Momoji is conflicted with her orders. To say the least these went renegade in the end. Oh Sensei and her group got blackmailed by cool Oji-san.

No that spygirl had everything setup in advance.. she's been monitoring him.. for what who knows but she has been monitoring him. If she was just a childhood friend she wouldn't of had the camera and sound setup spying on him already. This indicates she's been monitoring him for a while now but for what reason I don't know.

Frankly I think it's just a matter of her being hot for him, her wanting to be a spy and have all the cool spy gadgets and guns and shit, and realizing that she could marry the two and possibly get both.

I watched the first episode yesterday and I was surprised I actually liked it and want to continue with the story. I did notice that the copy I had was censored and I was wondering if that's all that's out there right now. I saw AT-X in the credits so I assume there is an uncensored version but is there a sub group using it?

Holy mother! I am so excited now it's not even funny! I have never gotten such a amazing rush from a anime series at episode 2.....so many things to say about this episode.....let's see....most exciting was the whole dematerialization of the tanks here=>
that was so I loved this part so much saw it like 8 times that scene alone....it was hammer then boom no more tanks....wonder if they got transferred into oxygen molecules because you know there are nano reference so much in this series and one of my brothers is into that. Of course also there was here Chief with the mother ship that came and they did not have big breasts at all. Way too excited to write so much about this episode......not even Sangoku Basara 2 did that to me like that......not even ToLove RU or My DearS series that I saw with a marathon recently. Well I suppose it's all good since I am primed up for farming and it's morning around here. Best series in its genre for me! 10/10 easy and looking forward to more of it.......almost finished GIFs of the first episode and going to do this episode soon too. Still have way too much things to say but got to go soon. Guess in the end cat/alien+crazy technology+action+nice girls = a good combination Still excited can't stop thinking about it.....I don't know why.......maybe this series for a first time had everything I wanted in the anime world all at once.

Which would explain why the episode felt so sped up.
But... unlike a certain other show last season, this still managed to be very interesting. Also, good animation and good and not overdone fanservice (damn bright moonlight there, though).

Still, damn, really no normal people around the protagonist... At least they like him.
Some new characters appeared at the end, but it seems they won't be regulars? Since they don't even appear in the OP(?).

Okay since I don't know Japanese I'll be waiting before watching the second episode, but it does seem that AT-X has censors on their version too (at least for the first episode). I guess I'll have to wait until the DVD release for the full ecchiness of the series. The first episode was good and from what I saw in Francismeunier's post the second is just as good so I can't wait for a subber to finish..
