Rumors also circulated that the scene in the OP where akane is aiming a dominator, she's actually aiming it to kogami. Kogami is aiming the revolver to her. Shogo is actually stading in between them both figuratively and literally.

of course, it's just a RUMOR.

I do hope Kagari managed to get away though. It makes the story much more interesting

The phrase "blood is thicker than water" comes to mind... could be about gino and masoka's relationship.

no one will know Kagari has died...if that ep 17 spoiler is true, they only know he's missing, just like the Chief said "Touma has been arrested, but what happened to him right now is classified." because if they learn Kagari died, at least Kougami and Akane will investigate why, and that's dangerous.

I suspect the masked-man riot is not a big deal. True riot will involve Rina, all prisoners will be released, that will be the end of Psycho Pass..

I'm more curious because of the rumor I put earlier...I really can't stop imagining if Kougami will team up with Makishima.

I think the next to die is Shion, because

As for Kagari... how many guys in jumpsuits were there?

Only 5 were taken out by Kagari and Kogami on screen, I think. There is at least 1 left.

He may have escaped. Shogo's men may have jumped the director, giving kagari enough time to run off.

Kagari's death would be easy to cover up. He simply died from wounds sustained during his battle with Shogo's terrorists. Ministry of Health takes his body under protected custody, no one can see it, remains cremated.

we "do know" that Kagari has died (if he really died, that is) however the team doesn't. After this incident, Chief will easily said "oh that Kagari is missing, running away when on duty, it's Inspector Tsunemori's fault for not looking after him now we have to search for him" (just like what Gino said to Akane when Kougami confronted that cyborg in underground) but in fact it's just a cover up.

now, if Kagari really isn't dead, he will really be running away and labeled as a criminal for real.

forgive my wild imagination, if Kagari is dead then

Kou won't accept the truth. After he discovers who killed Kagari, it's possible he'll fight against Sybil along with Makishima.

It should be child's play for the Director to argue that Kagari and Chou killed each other. Evidence can be falsified to make it appear so. The likelihood of anybody questioning it would seem slim since it makes sense that two guys could kill each other in a close-quarters firefight.

If the Director is particularly machiavellian, she might wax poetic about Kagari's great and noble sacrifice in defense of the Sybil system. (of course, such statements could be exactly what sets off alarms for some people )


But if the Director does this, I think that Kogami will find some small but crucial hole in "the official story". And that might reveal something very troubling to him. And that's when Kogami might go all rebel (perhaps even freeing Makishima from prison to do so, presuming Makishima isn't just executed). This could all lead to a critical decision by Akane.

yes you are right and I think if Kogami learned this truth is Kagari is killed by his boss ... I do not think anyone wants him to avenge Sibyl

and therefore it should really be a "fugitive" while it is called "Kogami"

And so the next issue would be what Akane would do if Kogami became a rebel (but I can't see him freeing Makhisima, no way he would IMHO)? Would she follow him? Or would she fight him? Even if I find Akane being a bit dependent by Kougami I think that she would go for the latter.
