Hello friendly people~ I have a quick question, I just finished reading volume 4 and I read somewhere that volume 5 is a side story, so I was wondering if it has anything to do with the main story so I can start reading volume 6 or should I wait till volume 5 is complete so I don't miss out on some awesome details and be lost reading volume 6.

Volume 5 are side stories, the next plot arc starts in volume 6. I'd still suggest reading the parts of volume 5 that has been translated though since they're good.

Tatsuya. When he takes out a spell with gram demolition, there is also a backlash to the caster who got their spell knocked out. So not only would he cancel her magic, he would knock her on her behind too.

@henzaeroz: He certainly wants freedom. It is fact that he will betray the clan. Revenge? He may not be able to feel such feelings, but he does want to stop the clan's unethical practices. He plans to use his time in high school and magic university to gain access to magical research not made open to the public. He also plans to invent the magical fusion reactor to take magic use away from military applications, decreasing the Yotsuba's power along with the other nine clans.

As far as strength goes tatsuya is alot stronger. The way I've been thinking about it, as I havn't read a detailed description of the spell, is she is a brake system. It only takes about 500-1500 psi to stop a 2 ton vehicle. Miyuki uses half of her power to apply one of the brakes on Tatsuya. I think the military rules act as another seal (although this may be self restraint on his part he still doesn't break them.) From what I've seen at full power Miyuki is stronger than Mayumi and around Masaki's power level (lacking in experience i think.) But then again all of this is just my opinion based on what I've read so far and will probably become completely wrong as i read more.

almost in the end after Kazuma, Miyuki, Tatsuya and Mayo meeting, Tatsuya its leave alone with Mayo, she ordered to leave his Guardian duty from Miyuki and he openly defies Maya bcause plainly reject the order, Maya usa midnight? (all dark and only one light) on Tatsuya, probably not with death intention but Tatsuya disamble the attack, Tatsuya leaves and someone else came saying: its very strong, Maya replie he ready more strong than her, but anyway Maya asign new reiforce Guardian (girl, looks like same power level of the Saeguza Clan twins) on Miyuki, bcause the Yokohama incident cause attracting a lot of attention from everyone including USNA sending STARS (they tought at first it was a nuclear detonation but no radiation was detected so the other possibility its magic, the question how or who have that kind of overwelming power, please remind the measure was 20 kton explosion), anyway seems Maya its the real Tasuya Mother or at least she feels Tasuya lack of emotions in special to her very hurting, Tasuya save her life with Miyuki, but she think he bcause Tatsuya didint want see Miyuki sad.
