Dependable Guy?
Hello, I'm hoping that you who reads this can help me with my problem...I'm in need of a particular*** character in an anime...Please let it contain:
*Male lead character or one* of the main *He is dependable, where everyone else needs his help He is powerful He somehow...has a secret power/skill? *He sacrifices himself here and there for others *He dies in the end and all are sad for him Well, thank you for reading this and I hope you can give me some great suggestions..... |

Oh yeah...Lol...that was pretty much the amin story...getting the dragon balls and usually reviving his dead ass?Lol...well I've already watched...it...Ty though and OTHER suggestions will be appreciated!

quite the description .. everything seems happy and sweet but then the main character has to die !!??? i would say school days but i'm not sure if he dies ( haven't finished it) and hes not that powerful.. and the whole thread is about dependable and hes really not ........ i guess u should try it out at least because i don't think theres a lot of but then the main protagonist died anime's out there

Heroic Age would fit the description quite well, I finished it about few hours ago and it's a really good show. Also the main character Age is powerful, dependable, and sacrifices himself for others. Others you just have to watch the show to find out

Other than Utawarerumono, male protagonists of Air and Sola seem to match your criteria in a different way. You may also want to try out Basilisk, Chrno Crusade, Romeo X Juliet, Sokyuu no Fafner since they have male leads that only miss the description by one or two points.
On a lighter note - You may want to check out Gun X swords. It has a dependable male protagonist (Van) looks as if he is doomed to die (I really don't know since I dropped it after couple of episodes).

Bleach, it hasn't ended, but Ichigio is the type of character that would die to protect everybody.
Also, you may want to check out the Gantz manga. The protagonist starts off as an emo-bitch looser, but ends off becoming kick-ass being the person everyone depends on. Spoiler for comment about Character Shields:
