However Tempest, if we are going to play that card, it's the same as sending Gunnery Sergeant Hartman to train local boyscout. A teacher need more than skill and knowledge, they also need compassion and understanding of children's psychology. I assume Chifuyu has passed a test in that regard.... barely.

I can see where Zero's heading at with his point.
While yes, potential candidates like ace pilots/reps have the skills... They may not be able to impart their knowledge to others just as well. They'll require experience in teaching people to go with their skills.

Well it's a good thing that the boyscouts aren't being trained in M16s and the like...
But the IS trainees are learning about a high-end, state-of-the-art armored power suit that tipped the balance of power the world over. If they weren't being trained strictly and thoroughly, a lot of 'o.0' would be happening all over the place too. I always thought that Maya provided the 'approachable' side to the teaching instruction while Chifuyu provided...everything else. Like a 'good cop, bad cop' dynamic, but between teachers. Can learn it the easy n gentle way, or you can learn it the Orimura Training-From-Hell way. I understand that not every good/great practitioner of something will end up a good teacher. For some who have a gift to instantly pick up any move they see, they probably don't have the ability to translate what they've learned in a way that others can interpret and understand for themselves. I have a feeling that Chifuyu can only get really involved if she's training an elite-lvl pilot. Everyone else falls behind her curve and that's the slack that Maya has to pick up... which sucks for her.

I also wonder if there's an age limit to being a teacher. I can see elders having a hard time piloting, even if there are old teachers in real life.
To anybody who can watch youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar-qKACbnkg Think it's possible for regular (Non pilot) ops in PT to act like the guys in black?

Well, there's always that button, but do you want to sacrifice the core or something? Tatenashi speculates that Autumn remove the core THEN blow up the frame. Implying that it could be done even if the core is intact.

Well.... dunno, I though it was her special ability or something, but someone (I forgot if it's you, Box or Blitz) said it can be done by anyone. If that's the case, then you're right that it's damn serious weakness.

Neither am I.
There's virtually no room to insert that because they have nothing covering their body besides the swimsuit.... ByakuShiki Setsura at least has a possible location in the torso armor, on the chest.

Well, assuming the core can turn smaller than it's physical size do (imagine golf ball turned into a tiny earring) that's not really farfetched.
But of course, there's always plot hole of why ByakuShiki disappear while Arachne didn't... maybe different mechanism?

ByakuShiki disappear when Autumn remove the Core, leaving Ichika totally helpless. And yet Autumn able to detonate the coreless frame. Again, it might be the different mechanism... or plot hole.
It couldn't be explained by shift-related matter (as I.S. in default configuration cannot be miniaturized) because Autumn herself is already achieved at the least first shift.

Not explicitly happen in case of Arachne, Tatenashi assumed she did. And I knew no PT agents are stupid enough to sacrifice an I.S. core for their own safety. So my default impression is that she removed the core then self destruct the I.S.
