From what I read through all the post, the "FINAL" means that also the novels are ending or about to, and there's no way that the story will continue because everything ends in this third installment. And to some guy out there complaining that I did not reply, well here I am; better late than never. |

Shakugan no Shana S episode 4 ending yes? It's suppose to hint that specific moment so in comparison and for spoilerish intent on J.C. Staff's part. Yes it is, but there were some edits in minor parts.

Yes, as Hooves said, it is the same scene. We cannot say anymore here about the content of Episode 4, so our best advice is to watch this episode for sure. Don't miss it! However, if you cannot bear the wait, you can spoil yourself in Spoiler thread.

Man, this is the mark where the Shana franchise really lost its luster:

There's a lot of "turnover" in the anime fan community, with people coming in and out all the time. There's a whole new generation of fans now who weren't even around when Shana was big, and for whom investing in the effort to catch-up (whether books or anime) is not worth it when there's so much new stuff to compete. Even around here on AnimeSuki, there is still a decent audience discussing the show each week (and generally pleased with what they're getting), but it's nowhere near what it was back in the day.
So anyway, I don't think it's the end of the world. This is the end of the franchise anyway, and I don't think this sets an "example" that'll prevent other shows from being adapted or getting concluding seasons. Mostly, I think it's a matter of "striking while the iron is hot". This season being the way it is still brings in a bit of extra revenue and may give that final push to the book sales now that it's all out there.
