I think both players need to be online for the third one to appear.
At least that was it for me all the time. Whenever someone was online I got their third pokemon

That's probably it (havn't synched).

Player online = hidden abilties
Player offline = normal set of 2 / 3 (no hidden abilities)

I'm trying to breed a Pichu with Volt Tackle (have multiple lightballs) but just realised the new mechanics isn't going to make this easy

Mother = Lightball (otherwise you can't get Volt Tackle)

Father
• Everstone (pass on nature)
• Destiny Knot (pass on 5 IVs, either parent).

Get a Butterfree
• Compundeyes
• Thief
• Stun Spore
• Sleep Power
• Skill Swap (move tutor in pokemon V...probably can't get in Pokemon VI)

→ Compoundeyes will increase the chance of finding a lightball
→ Thief lets you steal the item (without catching, if it has one)

Since you're going to need to level it anyway
→ Stun Spore/Sleep Power (lets you catch other things)
→ Skill Swap (lets you know what ability it has)

Don't know how many of you know this, but this is EXTRA helpful for breeders and people looking to battle competitively:

Giving one of the parent Pokemon a Destiny Knot will guarantee that 5 of the IVs between both parents will be transferred down to the child. The effect can be combined with giving the other parent a Power Item to guarantee a stat of your choice, or an Everstone to ensure a preferred nature gets passed down.

Your 3rd pokemon is ditto.

jun pls has a nice safari electrode Pikachu and zebstrika great for speed EV's btw in case u guys didn't know they changed some abilities as well including infiltrator now hitting through subs as well as reflect and light screen check that stuff out

That is so cool, I am glad that I can get some cool pokemon that can help folks, now i am going to working off of X right now.
