Tier 5: I think I've already told you how awesome the ELC AMX is. The only disadvantage it has is the low HP and a restricted turret arc that makes it play like a tank destroyer. Other than that, it has a high top speed, great acceleration, great traction, and an overpowered top gun for its tier.

Also, I rarely scout with this or the 13 75 because of the poor acceleration; I usually hang around base or the support line for the first minute or so of the battle, waiting for an opportunity to flank someone.

Tier 7: The AMX 13 75 is pretty much the same thing as the 12t, with even the exact same top gun. I've had a slightly better experience with the 13 75, though. The drum reload is faster, about 15 seconds instead of 20 for the 12t. It also has more HP, which means most enemies can't one-shot you anymore. The matchmaking feels somewhat more comfortable; since tier 8 has more battles than tier 7 or tier 9 due to premium tanks, both the 12t and 13 75 see tier 8 battles a lot, and the 13 75 fares naturally better in them.

Haven't gotten to tiers 8-10 yet. My impression from other people is that the 13 90 is good or great (it gets the ELC's high pen gun with an autoloader), the Lorraine 40t is bad or okay, and the BatChat is awesome.

Wow, thanks for the thorough explanation. I'll see if I can somehow rack up enough free exp to power through to Tier 5. If the AMX 40 is as bad as people say (I've also heard many people describing how painful leveling it is), I definitely want to skip it. I remember how bad the T-28 (from the Russian tank line) and the Pz. III A (from the German tank line) were, and I have no desire to repeat similar experiences.

Unfortunately, according to my calculations, I'll need approximately 22,830 more experience if I want to skip straight to the ELC AMX. I guess I should buy a little gold and start spamming games on my Elite tanks (I have my Lowe + 4 other low tier ones I've fully upgraded and researched). I can probably get the ELC in about a week if I no-life it.

Given how it's tier 5 and 6, it pretty much depends on making less mistakes than your enemies (which at that tier range, there's a whole lot of).

I like the German and French dazzle patterns and the German "She turned me into a newt!" blob pattern. The large-patch Soviet one isn't bad either though it's either a very flat tone or, more problematically, someone really sucks at taking screenshots.

Ok, wow, maybe I underestimated my own power-leveling ability, but now I'm only 14,300 experience away from my ELC AMX. I'm grinding exp using my Lowe, and as long as I do decent amounts of damage, I can usually get 200+ experience a game, more if I win. At this rate, I might be able to get the ELC AMX by the end of the day! (At least by tomorrow.) Lol.

Would have gotten that 8th kill if it weren't for the cappers. Still the tank is pretty fun although the last gun isn't really effective against higher tier targets but the burst is awesome vs same (or lower) tier targets.
