Looks to me like she might have grabbed him while he went for her chest. She also could've had grab before the scene and he saw the opportunity to grab her chest. I don't think he was falling at all........

I'm sorry but Akiyuki losing his memory and not being relevant to the story is just fillers to me. 2 and a half epside of fillers so far.

I didn't quite get what was going on in the Haru scenes. She offered herself to the captain to protect her sister, but I don't get why she was laughing about her decision. I also have no idea why the blonde woman let her escape.

So the Haru and Kagisu scene from the preview last week was all thanks to her --- she planned to use her body to save her sister. I quite like the way she lay on the bed just after it. Now she's able to leave the cell, i'm guessing she plans to safe her sister first.

The more i see these Akiyuki scenes, the more i think that the real Akiyuki is inside the strange eye creature. Still rather impossible to tell where that part of the story is going. Furuya Tohru's part in this episode was probably my favorite of the episode.

im kinda having a hard time telling what kind of character kakisu is... In the beginning he seemed like the noble type caught up in the military while that docter was the evil one, yet in this episode the roles almost seemed reversed. So confusing...

on a side note, that little ball thingie is really cute when it eats lol...

well my theory that it was her herself that did it was true.
Anyways, maybe it was the irony of thing. She lost Akiyuki, and then pushed away Furuichi. Both that she feels she could have saved. And now she's degrading herself to save the only one that she can save. Her sister. Even tho she knows it must be done, she might be feeling guilty to both Furuichi, and mostly Akiyuki.
The blonde woman, well might be because she feels Haru does not deserve to be treated like that. IIRC, she does have a soft spot for Haru earlier on in the series. And it's not like she like being ordered around by Kakisu anyways

So, the sixteenth episode took on a twist.

Spoiler:

Asami conveyed to Haru that Midori became exposed to danger due to his unwillingness.

As everyone recently commented, Kakisu change of character became an ironic twist in contrast to his old self at the start of the series.

Leave no doubt that among the candidates for the Hiruko experiments Midori might be as well included in the list.

Another observation to point out is likely that Nazuna was subconsciously awared while she was being treated by Dr. Takehara and communicated her thoughts to Asami.

I really wonder if the Jibarishi possess such advanced knowledge of precognition and telepathy that make them capable to see through their hearts the whereabouts of every Xamd and Hiruko in the planet.

That would make sense, since we have seen throughout the series the Jibarishi wandering every decimated town and extracting seeds from certain deceased people.

And while Akiyuki was again downplayed for most of the episode....

What's with the black, one-eyed, floating ball which made contact with the wheelchair-bound woman and guided her to Akiyuki?

I think it's the same one that face Haru onboard the ship after the crew subdued the mini-humanforms that infiltrated inside.

She didint committ adultery. And i hope she wont because this episode gave me a weird bad feeling even though nothing happent.

Its just I hope nothing sexual or rape happens in this series for some reason. Well perhaps if its Akiyuki, but anyone else is a no no.

Considering that Akiyuki nao cannot take off the mask without remembering who he is means that it could be Haru who can let him out of it. He is an anamoly tho, not fully controlled by the hiruko (he's basically still human) and yet still one (the mask).

Seems that the series would go different way with her. We would see the origin of Tessik people and such from her side of the story. And by the end of the series, she would remeet with Akiyuki (who should by then be cured by Haru) and an almighty final battle between them and the soldiers.

Well at least Haru is finally out of the prison. Nothing was going to happen while she was stuck in that kind of place. Though at the same time she'll ahve to get off the island fairly quickly. That creepy commander after all won't just sit around while she is free for too long. Though still she has to do something about her sister since she's in plenty of danger staying in such a place.

Hopefully Akiyuki can get his memory back sooner rather than later. He's just kind of wasting around doing nothing right now. Though can really only see something happening when he runs into someone who will recognize him. For now he's just there.

I'm not a man that is easily disturbed. However the jail scenes threw me off, the audience has been thinking Kakisu was going to rape her but to come out and say it threw me off. Also as an anime watcher I associate certain things with certain series and categories and I don't normally put rape in an action adventure romance. It also was a little disorienting that she was asking to be raped.

Anyways I'm starting to get bored with the rest of the series as it is moving at the pace of a slug moving backwards. I don't mind character development but only if something happens. Last couple of episodes has been characters wandering around lost.

Episode 17 was excellent. The stories were all interesting and interwove well. I feel as if we are really getting somewhere: the Haru part had strength; I liked the fact that it made a certain possibility explicit and in the process gave us another aspect of Haru's character. The Akiyuki part began to lead somewhere. And the canyon and village scenes with Nakiami were good.

Well, there are other things going against that theory. For starters, the voice is credited in both ep12 and ep17 as the Hiruken Emperor in the credits. And we know that the Emperor is linked to the Diamond Tower and the giant eye on it. The eye clearly symbolizes the Emperor. The question now is whether the black eye following Akiyuki is a probe sent by the Emperor to scout out Nakiami's latest Xam'd, or if it is in fact even the Emperor himself in a hidden form. From ep12 we already know that the "black spirit" has found Nakiami, and so she must return. I think it will become much clearer after the next two episodes, and ep20 will be when the final arc begins.

Yeah i was coming up with the Emperor theory during this episode --- that's why i was asking Key Board if what he mentioned came from the official sire, because it sounded like a statement more then speculation.
