I have a feeling Kuon never told Karura and Touka she is gong to war. She is after all the princess of Tusukuru.
I feel Haku is a man without conviction. That is why he couldn't understand why his friends go to war to protect Yamato. He is forced to go along the flow with Rurutie. As for the Urusha(sp?) I think these guys never learned how to farm or ranch and all they can do is raid others. Now that the real generals are here they are going to get wrecked. |

Pretty good. Some nice movement forward and also got to see Atui be pretty badass. Honestly it wasn't all that out there to have Haku be more "whoa, maybe we can just sit this one out." All the more so since the show has had him basically avoid all conflict outside of maybe 3-4 episodes. So of course he holds back until the very last moment and some prodding from Rurutie.
Thank god Rurutie gets more chances to develop in this episode. You know instead of just having her entire character revolve around her BL interests. Had some good moments there. Being one of the few who was really hesitant about doing all this, but when people were in trouble and needed some rescue without outright fighting...then she could jump in. Good episode. Should be good to see the war unfold now that actually competent people have arrived and Dekoponpo shouldn't be commanding anything.

Yeah, battl......
!? Hmm, it was pretty underwhelming. I don't think the story itself was wrong, but perhaps the presentation was the reason it didn't leave any impact. Anyways, battle kinda happened and kinda finished. ...'Kay.

Finally caught up to current episode.
So far the first battle seemed underwhelming but I suppose that was intentional. There were some great movement though so hoping for more of that in intense fights. Just going to say I absolutely love the new OP already more then the previous one. It does a really good job at matching the game's opening.

Also I don't think it finished since both main forces still intact. |

If this battle happened back in 5 or 7th episode, this anime would be much more interesting. But now that they finally got to the action, the wait we had to go through made the fight disappointing...
I mean, we had 13 episodes of expectations for this, that's the reason for the underwhelming feel. |

Yeah, it really does feel underwhelming. It's like...Look! New characters! Now, here's the fight. Okay, fight's over, now move along....next episode.
I'm okay with the slow pacing though....just waiting for the transformation bit in the fire. |
